The People's Hero Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 What we should do is get rid of all players with a bit of talent. Thais spend out on getting them, NP falls out with them. That sounds like a recipe for success.
Stevosevic Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Fans haven't really taken to him since day one, don't think it is ever going to work out in the long term. A shame really, such a great record before he joined us and i can't think of many better strikers we could get at this level.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 please god ! not an LCFC type player...egotist and heartbreaker.. burnt his bridges today.
Charl91 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Yeah, we don't need good players. Just stick waghorn on.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Beckford was a ****ing disgrace today, the most lazy and weak performance i have seen in a long time. He pussied out of getting on a header at the far post at the end, and i couldnt even believe he was still on the pitch by the full time whistle. I'd rather have had Howard on for the last few mins, he might not have the quality but he would have put his head on the line and tried 100%. Not saying I want him to go, but if Beckford does go i wont be bothered.
Fox92 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Well, the other players say he is a nice chap off of the field, but on the field when we all watch the team, he doesn't try, there is a lack of effort etc and today might be the final, the end. We will have to wait and see, but things the today should not happen in ANY team game.
Guest Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 He ISN'T a good player. If he goes then at least something good will have come out of a loss to Peterborough
yorkie1999 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I was listening to the radio commentry, and 2 minutes before beckford was supposed to have his strop, ian stringer was praising beckford for getting back in defence, now i might be stupid or something but seeing as no-one ringing in who was at the game has complained about the incident(i'm not sure about that woman who wouldn't shut up), i think people are reading to much into what has gone off. IMO.
stillwater Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Yep having run 100yds to help the defence out, and being at the end of the game maybe, just maybe he was a bit knackered and pissed of with the defensive effort his team mates where putting in. As someone has already stated anyone with any flair or talent is not rated by our manager,

cc_star Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Oh god Another thread with 10,000 comments despite no one knowing what will happen behind the scenes

IMO. Beckford is everyone's favourite scapegoat, including Stringer and Young. He was not a disgrace today, far from it. Instead of people berating him for the incident, you should realise he'd just ran 80 yards to defend because Morgan was up front (completely ineffective too I might add).
ithuriel Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Having watched him this season i can understand why he was sold on by Leeds and Everton.

m00nie Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 wasnt the free kick about the last kick of the game??

That sounds like a recipe for success. Where is this talent that the Thai's have mortgaged the future of the club on, apart from a handful of performances this season when have they collectively shown that they're capable of doing anything for us? who cares if one leaves, I couldn't care if they all leave
ScouseFox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Having watched him this season i can understand why he was sold on by Leeds and Everton. He left Leeds by his own choice, they wanted to keep him. We offered Everton too much money for them to refuse. Most fans wanted to keep him there as well.

Still not up to it though in my opinion and from what i have heard and read, quite a few others Did absolutely nothing under Sven and has been inconsistent under NP.
Finnegan Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 so we finally play the guy in to form, let him settle, let him strike up a partnership with his strike partner at the club... ... then we change the formation, make him play up on his own, cut his service back down again, turn his co-striker into an out of position winger and then... blame him for suffering? I'm not going to start screaming for Pearson to be sacked but if people can't accept that he's shown some serious tactical naivety over the last few weeks then they're being insanely blinkered.

Number 6 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 More annoyed about him not sticking his body in to get a 1 yard tap in. Not the actions of a goalscorer.
