Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Good result, good goals, very slack at the back, thankfully Brown was shocking for them today. Onwards to the next game. Can't believe we are still in contention after how inconsistent we have been all season.
Happy Fox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 This is City we are talking about the essence of inconsistency we have to rely on other teams f**king it up its the hope I have and it is only that, of course realistically we aren't going to make the playoffs hypothetically 3 wins and 2 draws is the best case scenario worst and unlikely scenario is 5 wins can we do it?
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 With the way this league is it wouldn't surprise me if we finish in 6th and win the play off final...not that I think we'd deserve it but alot of teams go up like that...
foxfanazer Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Happy with that. Get rid of the deadwood in the summer and bring in some Pearson signings and I think we could be strong contenders next season, emphasis on the word could!
Babylon Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Thought we were woeful for most of it. Donny were poor and gave up towards the end but still missed a hatful.
TheStig Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Why are City fans so negative. We win 4-0 and immediately Donny are a League 1 side. The defence is slagged. if Donny had a striker like Beckford .... bla bla bla. We have to beat them all even if the sides in our opinion are not "Leicester class"..... and we have failed to do so on numerous occasions. "Now we need to beat Millwall and Ipswich or were gone again" - honestly we have had to beat them anyway so why the negativity. The total lack of constructive comments is really strange. Even if we beat Real Madrid the comments would be " oh yes but Zidane didn`t play". Come on lets show a little positivity - 4-0 is 4-0! Yours speechlessly
purpleronnie Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 I'll be happy as long as we dont finish 8th (which I still think we will).

It's possible to be happy with the points but not how we went about getting them.
Out Foxed Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Thought we were woeful for most of it. Donny were poor and gave up towards the end but still missed a hatful. agreed.
ealingfox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 To stand any chance at all we need to win all 5 remaining games, taking us to 74 points.
ScouseFox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Let's not piss around here, we were shocking for pretty much the whole game. We won 4-0 but I'd say most of this division would have beaten us today, and we needed a helping hand from Ikeme being so shit. Marshall and Drinkwater's goals were nice strikes, Gallagher's was a nice move an finish. Pleasing result anyway. Isn't winning when you play badly a sign of a good team? Are we a good team? Not really. Onto Ipswich, inevitable defeat and finally ending this season.
Webbo Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Strange game could easily have been 10-4, despite Ikelme's own goal he must have made 7 or 8 saves half of which were quality. They had good chances but put them wide. We have a special talent in Marshall his goal and his chance that hit the crossbar were superb, we might struggle to hang on to him.
Guest Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 To stand any chance at all we need to win all 5 remaining games, taking us to 74 points. Or for Cardiff, Brighton and Boro to go into administration.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Earlier than usual, Conclusions from Doncaster. Good as usual, but one mistake. Ikeme was signed on loan by Sousa not Pearson.
Mack Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 If Doncaster had someone to finish off the pile of chances they created it would have been a very close match. I also noticed Gallagher did not acknowledge the fans whilst warming up or indeed after he had scored. You can tell he has the right hump with the fans.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Cracking performance would have given Barcelona a good game on today's form and I honestly believe that
Cropwellfox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 The sort of result that hides our continuing defensive ineptitude. The Plus is that we actually manged to dispatch a struggling team and both Drinkwater and in particular Marshall look better and better, but defend like that at Ipswich and millwall and there'll be another load of goals shipped. Hope Pearson isn't fooled and am sure he won't be as this defence needs huge work still.
cc_star Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 I understand what you are saying reckon we need 3 more wins and 2 draws will do it imo You're joking aren't you? You think that Cardiff will take less than 6 points from their last 5 games. They'll get at least 9 and that's me being hopeful. I have no clue about the permutations, but for those who are keeping track of might happen I think you can only base it off the average points required to hit 6th.

It really doesn't surprise me, he is made a scapegoat a lot of the time when he is far from the worst player on the pitch at time. It pissed me off at Chelsea when he was quite clearly carrying an injury that fans started goading him when he got substituted.
jamesmilner Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 good result ! i dont think beckford warrants a place for monday tho on todays performance !

The way some fans have treated him lately has been disgusting in my opinion.
LCFC FOX Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 good result ! i dont think beckford warrants a place for monday tho on todays performance ! What are you on? Another Beckford hater... Beckford was one of the best players out there today
Matt Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Cracking performance would have given Barcelona a good game on today's form and I honestly believe that Ok Good result, we played well but can't help thinking Doncaster made us look good, against a better team/strikers the opposition would have scored atleast 3. Onto the next game if we win that, i'll reassess my feelings, at the moment it's still season over and that's purely based of the consistency (or lack off) shown throughout the season, that said today is a game we'd usual lose, based on we seem to only play against the better teams and awful against the poor teams.
