paulsherwood1 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I have to say, that whilst I have been fairly vocal on here about the manager and his tactics / Leadership skills, one thing is for sure, he ( and his team ) seem to be able to spot potential talent. There is no doubt in all my 30 odd years in supporting City that players have brought us false dawns.... Hossain Kaibi ( the next messi) Zaltz Lackzo and Bori his pal etc... but Ben Marshall actually looks like he will deliver... and some. The boy has a natural talent on the wing that we have been missing for years. His positional play and ability to score goals is something special. I think Mr Pearson has done a great deal here!
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 One of the things about Pearson and his team (in particular Walsh, I guess), they do spot players well. Ok, he has signed the likes of Kermorgrant and Nielson in previous seasons, but overall the quality of our permanent and loan signings have been good under Nigel Pearson... Davies, Cleverley, Spearing, Wellens, Hobbs, Marshall etc just to name a few.

"one day Ben Marshall will score a tap in..but for now there all spectacular" brilliant..considering he was largley anonymous for large parts yesterday. thats quality tho

dannythefox Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 A class act and he's only 20! Has to start every game for me.
cc_star Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Agree on all of those apart from Hobbs who is an average cart horse! A young player who had the basics & could be coached in the finer aspects if the role & could grow with the club & in-time become a legend. Was replaced by players supposedly better, Bruma, Mills & others who have proved to be no better or in fact worse looking at defensive records. -------- Marshall is a typical signing, young lad, still has stuff to learn but has all the skills to grow with us, give us his best years etc
Moto Hello Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I prefer him on the left so would put Gallagher in for Dyer and I would also put King in for Wellens.
Petchy Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I'm quite happy he has started to deliver as his slow start lead to some people nearly writing him off before he had a proper chance. Very good signing, my Sheff Weds friends were gutted he didn't go there permanently and now we can all see why!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I'm getting the 'Lee' part of my Lee Marshall tattoo that's on my bellend lasered and replacing it with Ben. I've been waiting over a decade for this, it really is fantastic
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 And Embarrassingly people were saying Marshall wasn't good enough prior to the Chelsea game. We all criticise players but people wanted him out the door inside a month. Idiots. Been great lately and seems a bit versatile too which is another positive.
Captain... Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 As one star fades another one is born. The transference of powers is nearly complete...
Guest Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Think he's doing okay but the furore is OTT. Gally could do just as good a job though I hope and expect Marshall to improve given his age. He does go missing for large parts of the game and is of little use defensively which was an important reason that donny got so many man on man chances.

Only really in the first half and IMO that was because he was playing on the right. Not as confident with him and Pelts on one side. Seemed to work so much better with him cutting in from the left
sphericalfox Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Dear Zombie Jeebus this is going to end in tears!
AKCJ Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Dear Zombie Jeebus this is going to end in tears! I think you may be right. He'll have a stormer of a season next year and a prem club will come in for him
TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Im sure people are already scouting him, I honestly say you can expect him to be in an england line up within his life. Just hopefully with Leicester... The 20-year-old winger has agreed a contract with the Foxes until June 2015 and, following the arrival of defender Wes Morgan, becomes City's second new signing in as many days. WE HAVE HIM TILL 2015, Yes then!
Charl91 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 If he doesn't get the distance shooter attribute on fifa next season, I'm going to ring up and complain.

Oh lighten up and enjoy the positivity, don't worry it will only last until we lose to Ipswich tomorrow, over the top optimism is needed to counteract the negativity on here.
fatmando Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Haven't read the thread but - Great signing....sexy shot on him from outside the box.
LCFCstriker Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Brings more balance to the team when hes on the wing as he can cover pelts when he's gone forward meaning we're abit more solid
Bluetintedspecs Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Reminds me of Chris Waddle in his day, not blessed with pace but skill and shooting ability in abundance! if he carries on improving we have one hell of a player in Marshall
