Hollism Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 The football league have voted today to return to seven substitutes next season. Just been on SSN.

Filbert_Ross Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 good news . nice to have a few options on the bench and youngsters more likely to get a look in.
ScouseFox Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Common sense. Still haven't worked out who would want less subs on their bench. Much better.
Hollism Posted 1 June 2012 Author Share Posted 1 June 2012 I would have thought it would only be a handful of League 2 clubs that would be against this. Makes sense to bring back

RowlattsFox Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 To be honest, having 5 subs never bothered me up until they changed it to 7. However after going back to 5 this season it seemed like we lacked so much options on the bench.
brockmyster Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 I would have thought it would only be a handful of League 2 clubs that would be against this. Makes sense to bring back 7 I dont see why any club what so ever would vote against it, its not as if you are under obligation to put 7 players on to start with
Harry - LCFC Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Good decision, some clubs have opted not to put a GK on the bench (including us I think) under the 5 subs rule which could lead to a ridiculous situation if the first choice keeper was sent off/injured EDIT: In fact this did actually happen to West Ham away to Blackpool, they won 4-1 anyway
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Can't understand why we went to 5 subs in the first place, but hey ho, as others have said, it's good to be back to 7 subs again.
Fox92 Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Did seem like a lack of options with 5 subs, although I never noticed it before the switch from 7.
Corky Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Never saw the need to go back to five, seven is fine and it keeps more of the squad involved.
Fox42 Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 1 GK, 1 CB, 1 FB, 1 CM, 1 WM, 1 ST, 1 young ST
Leicester_Numan Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Certainly good news for keepers. No point having 3 or 4 keepers at the club if you don't put one on the bench because of the 5 sub rule. Mind you, if injuries and suspensions are as bad as last season, we still won't be able to put 7 subs out

Madrid_Fox Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Good. Might actually get a chance to use some of the 1000s of players we seem to have
kingfox Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 From 7 to 5 to 7. Joke of a voting system should of kept it at 7 last season. Anyway good news though.
Mark_w Posted 1 June 2012 Share Posted 1 June 2012 Good, all it did was limit the chances young players got last year, don't really understand why they changed it in the first place.
