No.

They've played in Scotland all of their histories, there is no real justification for bringing them down here.

But Sevco have only have a few weeks of history....so not a big deal.

Imagine the journey back for Plymouth if they ever got one of them in a cup tie.

I don't see how they would be able to put them both straight into the Prem though?

Most of them come from Northampton

No! If this was to happen, we might as well kiss goodbye to the PL now, because it'll open the door for the European Super League.

We'll lose all the best teams from every league

The Scots are generally a bunch of worthless c-units so I see no real benefit to England in having them down here. It might benefit them, but they're surely TEE PRIDE TE BEH SCOERTISCH to admit that they desperately need English help to make a success of something as simple as football.

Maybe we could scrap the league cup and replace it with a British cup, but again, there would be no benefit to England and those animals would only come and cause criminals carnage like the prehistoric dogs that they are.

So in summary no, **** the scots, leave them to their shithole country with their laughably shit football.

It would make the english a little bit of more exciting,

I'm going to presume you mean English leagues and no it wouldn't apart from the novelty factor which would wear off faster than a fat man's summer vest.

be good for a few lower league clubs due to both teams have good away support.

So the clubs they play against could expect big gate receipts every time the Scots come a few hundred miles to town? Even if that was the case and even if the league was extended to fit them (as opposed to them replacing somebody), meaning more games to profit from, it would still only be a marginal increase on their income for the season. And that's only for the season(s) that they'd occupy the lower leagues, so why should those clubs care?

Another thing is it would help both clubs attract bigger named players to join, plus would bump more cash into both clubs due to television and that.

1. Why are you feeling so benevolent towards them and what would make bigger names then they can currently attract flock to either squad following a move to England's lower tiers?

2. The TV money's only really worth it to clubs when you reach the P'ship. Until then you get piss all, hence the desperation of so many Ch'ship clubs to get promotion.

Your thoughts?

No.

This, sir, is uninformed racist drivel.

Judging any group of people negatively en masse is wrong, even the ginger neighbours to the North.

I doubt you would have the cojones to venture up here, but your comments suggest that if you have been in Scotland, you kept your eyes and ears shut.

I especially doubt that you would spout this drivel in front of a group of Scots.

I'm English (and British) and I take offence at your post.

Shame on you.

Back on topic, it is never going to happen.

It shouldn't happen, but before Rangers collapsed I would have said both of the Old Firm would easily be serious competitors in the top flight within five seasons.

Basically, the top 6 don't need them and the rest of us don't need the competition for a place in the prem. A definite no.

What criteria could possibly be contrived to allow [only]Rangers and Celtic to join the most financially successful league in the world.

Law firms all over would be wetting themselves at the thought.

I hate scottish football, it's so boring and dry Celtic and Rangers both play in pub leagues, as some of you right say it's an english league not a british league saying that though we've got Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Newport County & Colwyn Bay in our leagues!

I don't want Celtic and Rangers going to straight into the premier league if they want to come in then they must start off from non league, also this means attracting people more to non league football aswell. There is a good and bad side of this isn't there.

Is there any Rangers and celtic fans on here?

Celtic are playing Barcelona this week.

Why the Fuc k are they going to want to play in the English non league lol

Rangers aren't exactly walking the Scottish 3rd division. Do you think they are going to want to have to fight their way up the English league Pyramid which is 1000x harder to reach the top flight than the Scottish one?

The idea has always bee an extremely dumb one in my eyes but now Rangers have re-formed, given that if either side was going to instigate a move to the Prem (and that's what it would be you wouldn't find a fan of either team before Rangers went bust that would tolerate even being put in the Championship never mind the conference) it would have been them. Celtic are more than happy where they are.

I'd be more for kicking Cardiff and Swansea out than having Rangers and Celtic join.

100% agree...

If Celtic and Rangers joined.. that would be 2 more English clubs already fighting for survival who would have to drop out of the league

And what would happen to the rest of scottish football too? what would be the draw to keep scottish football professional?

Just,,, No No no and no.

Being honest several years ago i used to think it was a good idea but i just see so many obsticles these days...

Would be bad for other Scottish clubs, all the money and interest would be completely gone from Scottish football (not that there's much of either there anyway).

lol

Love it.

Ok, MooseBreath, but please tell us how you really feel about Scotland.

La Liga may have some vacancies to fill once Catalonia gains independence.

Don't think they'll approach Celtic or Sevco though...

Not this again. As it stands the English Premier League is the richest, most watched, and according to the UEFA coefficient, the best league in Europe/the world (though i expect La Liga will overhaul us this year). What have Celtic or Rangers given toward this success that they warrant a mighty free lunch at the expense of English clubs, potentially ourselves, who've spent over 100 years of our history to get where we are right at this precise moment? The biggest question to answer would be, what possible benefit would it bring to England if we were to allow them in? Apart from a few bummers, i have come across almost zero enthusiasm for such an idea as the negatives and complications are almost overwhelming

Also, lets not even talk about the sectarian hate bollocks, and as somebody mentioned earlier, i also saw families with little ones being subjected to absolutely disgusting anti-English abuse by Celtic fans pretty much the entire day they infested our city for a friendly a few years back, as well as huge bands of them racially abusing brown fellas who made the mistake of walking past/near them. For the only time ever i was glad to see quite a few of them nursing black eyes and swollen jaws as they slumped back north. This is from somebody from an Irish Catholic background!
