Alex Baptiste

Why?

Not because I don't think he would be capable but rather for the following reasons:

a) I would much rather we renewed the loan of Keane instead. Then with Whitbread and St.Ledger to come back we are covered in the centre back department.

b) If we got to the Premiership, he would imo be surplus to requirements, i.e. not good enough. Good enough for the Championship but not the Prem.

Keane was great today, however he's still young! and a lot to learn. Baptiste on the other hand is very experienced at this level now and would be a great addition if it did happen.

Whitbread is injured, was'nt he injured quite often at Norwich :xmasunsure: and Ledger has yet to recover from his injury yet.

We might need to sign another defender rather than hoping they will return sharpish and slot straight back in since we have half a season still to play.

Seems like is Baps unsettled by what I read.

It would be a fantastic signing if we could pull it off.

Baps alongside Wes, is premiership material.

We need another Wes type player if anything else.

Deadly quiet at the Blackpool end on this today. Previously, the view seemed to be that todays post-match meeting between Oyston and Appleton would go something like this.....

Oyston..'Mike. I've had an offer for Baptiste from Leicester and we're in negotiations about a fee'.

Appleton..'What! You can't do that! He's a key player! What about the rest of the season, the club! The fans?'

Oyston..'F*uck that! I want a new car'!

could be selling SSL again!!!

NO

With the form he was showing before he got injured, he is worthy of a starting place when he comes back, Whitbread hasn't really made strides and cemented his place, therefore St Ledger needs to come back in.

Agreed...Plus SSL is cover for the RB position if required.

It's because SSL is so poor that we might need another CB.

Morgan Whitbread,Moore, Keane on loan, we need a better 4th/5th option than SSL.

Do you ACTUALLY live in France?

That's an interesting point. If we had a fully fit squad to choose from, for me he'd be behind Moore for RB right now.

How is SSL poor? Are you mad?

I don't see the need for Baptiste as long as Whitbread is not playing, he is a calamity on the best of days.

Are you really Welsh and related to Ian Watkins?

Haven't you watched him play?

He's a midtable championship player at best.
