Buzzell Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Why? Last season he pretty much was Well yes true. Just goes to show what an amazing turnaround he has done to his game. It simply is unbelievable.
Webbo Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Is Danny Ings English? I think you're all getting a bit carried away.
Buzzell Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 im sure hes caught the eye of the powers that be. be impossible to ignore It possibly will be ignored.
Buzzell Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Welbeck has 1 in every 2 in the league for an underperforming Utd. Well suppose I was talking out of my arse when I mentioned Welbeck's name
Guest MattP Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Two quality goals tonight, pure pace and excellent finishing. He's just getting better and better.
Mark_w Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Two quality goals tonight, pure pace and excellent finishing. He's just getting better and better. The cross for Danny's goal was pretty impressive as well.
lgfualol Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 I thought he was really shit, and would have let a team take him for free before this season started. Proved me wrong, I dont care admitting that.
Jace Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 When we signed him for £1m I have to say I was very surprised and underwhelmed. This is now proving to be a poor piece of business for us and poor judgement on Pearsons behalf (see Futacs, James, Whitbread, Lingard et al). He is not good enough for this division and I don't really care about is 'work rate' - this is too flimsy an argument to justify why he will contribute significantly to our promotion chances. Yakubu had a poor work rate - but his contribution was significant. . . two ends of the spectrum. I don't honestly think we are as good as some people make out. Like everyone else, I am mad keen to see us progress successfully but since the early summer, our transfer activity has left me baffled and disappointed (see the 'bring back Beckford & Danns post'). Hopefully, Pearson will deflate his ego and see sense and get back to focussing on improving us with more suitable additions - just like (in fairness to him) he did last season (respect to Steve Walsh snr). I wonder why this poster hasn't been back lol
Guest MattP Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 The cross for Danny's goal was pretty impressive as well. Couldn't have layed it up any better. Been a long time since I've seen a player so clearly skinned as that centre half for his first goal.
Unabomber Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Couldn't have layed it up any better. Been a long time since I've seen a player so clearly skinned as that centre half for his first goal. That was class playground stuff.
65RosesFox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 He also looks so confident with both feet as well. A good goal and great assist with his left tonight. Player of the season for me. He edges DD to the title because of his transformation from last season. £1mil was a steal. We seen Fleetwood coming!
southfox66 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 yep 2 goals tonight, he defo seems of out of his depth
CountesthorpeFox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 hes been great. His chance conversion isn't premier league quality though. He wont get second chances in that division either. Sort that out of the summer like he has everything else and we could see something special.
JonnyBoy Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Saw him on the M1 tonight in his AMG merc. Tidy bird with him too
Raj Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 To even talk about England for Vardy is silly. why the **** would he endanger his reputation!!!
fuchsntf Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 To even talk about England for Vardy is silly. why the **** would he endanger his reputation!!! Damn right, Problem is the players themselves dont trust themselves to play the football they play every Weekend.
Babylon Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 7 in 9 since Phillips joined as a player/coach. Unbelievable stuff at the minute, keeps finding another level as well. Makes you wonder how far he can go. Shame he's 27!!!
Lcfclee Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I'm not sure mate. Pace frightens defenders. I could see Vardy turning some of those old Italian guys on their arseholes. Imagine the number of penalties he'd get us! look how many penalties we'd miss ( England )
Fox Ulike Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Unbelievable stuff at the minute, keeps finding another level as well. Makes you wonder how far he can go. Shame he's 27!!! Agreed. Does make you wonder what he was doing in his early 20s. Probably the same as the rest of us... Reading back through this thread this morning, you can see that the majority of comments from last year were supportive. It's only the posts from the thick-as-pig-shit fraternity that tend to stand out and stick in your mind as a general reflection of 'fan opinion'... but it's nice to see that most fans understood that last season was a transitional one for Vardy. He's got to be this season's "Championship player of the year" surely? Given the season we'd had, if it was a player from any other team that would be a travesty... On a par with the Barnsley announcement last night that 'man of the match is Stephen Dawson"... City fans then chanting ''soooper stevie Dawson'' really made me chuckle. UP DEM FOXESSSSS...
Guest MattP Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Agreed. Does make you wonder what he was doing in his early 20s. Probably the same as the rest of us... .. Running with the Wednesday OSC according to some Barnsley, sounds like a right little rogue when he was younger
ARM1968 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I always said he just needed time to bed in. Came back this season looking lean and mean. Grown game by game. He'll do so e damage in the Prem.
