Jamie Vardy - Out of his depth.

Hahahahahaaa it's happening mate, after I coined that horrible Carly Rae Jepson song yesterday

Hey we've just beat you

And this is crazy

But tell Roy Hodson

To call James Vardy

Is there too many syllables in the last line? Would 'to call up Vardy' work better?

Vardy is playing very well this season, some incredible football. Tantalizing pace which panics defenders.  But I don't think you can really blame people for saying he was awful last season because he was, erm, awful. I'm just glad he has clearly been putting the work in to get better, seems to a developed a football brain in a year. Onwards and upwards.

You said it again this season.

Last season.. spot on

This season... I'm never adverse to adding quality to a squad. Its great though that this season its not been needed so far. Last season it definately was.

That's the same amount of syllables.

(though it might sound a little better)

Jamie has two syllables (jay-mee)?

Stand by everything I said in here. Last season he was shite and didn't add anything to the team. Remember Peterborough away and hearing Wood was injured and Vardy was starting and everyone was saying the same thing that he was crap.

This, he was shite last season, and I even think he knows that, he on record in saying he worked hard and change a lot of his lifestyle, and put the extra work in, and boy has it payed off, been great all season, well done to the lad.

During our slump last season I did begin to wonder if we'd all been a little harsh. I was fully backing the signing of Chris Wood and thought he'd be the answer for us, but it doesn't look that way and the results even last season suggested that.

A confident Vardy is one of the best forwards in this division and I think he could make the step up, should we get promoted. I never thought I'd say that either.

His work rate is fantastic, and that is good for us. But I still think he was unlucky yesterday. His leap for that header was very good, Marshall wouldn't have kept that out.

His work rate does create chances sometimes, but every player should have the workrate Vardy has.

Still stand by my comments.

3. Sorry not technically good enough for the Premier League better strikers than him have struggled at that level, we'll have just have to disagree on that one.

He'd deserve a chance at least?

Technique's never really been his game (although that's his biggest improvement, what a finish last night), the role he played last night could be effective even in the Premier League and I genuinely believe that.

There's a fickle element to what most of us (myself included) are saying here, but I think it can be forgiven in this case. His turnaround in form is almost miraculous.

Again no I'd be very wary of him getting a chance to start up front in the Premier League, he's got too many limitations and he'd struggle in the Prem we can't piss about giving chances to people who got us up if we want to survive sadly we're going to have to be a little cut throat, I'd have Nugent playing a minimal part as well. Obviously if Pearson decides he wants to give him a go I'll be behind them both they deserve that at least, but better strikers than Jamie Vardy have struggled to make an impression on the Premier League and if we're going up I'd rather we stay up than try and be sentimental and stick with the lads that got us there in the first place, It's professional football not Sunday League.

On his goal last night, great shimy and even better finish which was top level quality, but not many of his 10 goals have been like that and a simple drop of the shoulder isn't going to sell the vast majority of top level defenders quite like it has there.

couldn't find thread to put it in, so here we go:

Belated transfer deadline news - Southampton made an inquiry for #lcfc striker Jamie Vardy on Friday but were told not for sale at any price

And not a word from either club at the time.  That's how all transfers should be approached.  Fulham scum bastards.

Enquiry to someone's availability is different to a transfer bid though, which I'm sure you know.

You know who reckons he could play in any league. And I'd trust his judgement

CLT is right though, principle still stands

Principle yes, but how many times do you hear Clubs saying that they've made an enquiry though? That's more my point.

Vardy has done what waghorn chose not to do.

He had deficiencies last year and spent time working on what he lacked and fine running what he had to become a more accomplished player.

He will do fine in his career if he keeps that work ethic.

On the other hand waggy has not worked on his deficiencies and has progressed backwards.

Care to tell us how you know that Waghorn hasn't spent time working on his game?

Waghorn for the qualities he does have should be a far more important cog to our machine than he is. He may have worked on certain parts but for a young player who had/has potential (pace/strength/decent delivery etc) he has not progressed as well as he should've.

He has not improved on what he has shown previously and if he has spent endless hours on the training pitch it's either he is not good enough or he has just not worked on it. Either way, it makes what Vardy has done as a player in the space of a few months even more impressive.

Hope the I've explained myself sufficiently boss man.

He's had injuries that have halted his progress and on top of that he's been given very few chances to start for us. There's no way you can have seen enough of him (unless you saw him for Millwall) to say how well he is doing at this point in time and you have absolutely no proof what so ever that he hasn't spent just as much time working on improving his game.

Because he's muck. I love the bloke as much as the next guy but I won't miss him when he's gone.
