Libertine Dream Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Martin O'Neill has left Sunderland just. Wonder if he's coming home
Fox in the North Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Oh dear, foxestalk will go into meltdown...
Tielemans63 Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Wow. Sacked according to Eurosport! So shocking I posted it twice
Tielemans63 Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Seems like a hugely risky move. On the other hand 9 wins from 45 games is pretty gash.
Kitchandro Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Sad. It's not worked out for him there, then again Sunderland haven't really been much good since Kevin Phillips was banging in about 30 goals a season for them nearly 15 years ago. I think considering his track record they should have seen how he got on at the start of next season, I think whatever happened they'd just about stay up this season.
acooling08 Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Get him in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leicesterpool Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 To be honest MON hasn't been the same since Villa and I don't believe he wanted to leave Villa when he did, the reason he offered his resignation from Villa was because he didn't wanna see James Milner go and he thought he could blackmail the board, in which it didn't work sadly Got alot of respect for MON hope that wasn't his last job, please say he's gonna come home
Corky Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 No surprise, spent a fair bit and their form this season has been appalling. Looking at the way they've played recently, they are in serious danger. O'Neill didn't seem to have that spark or bounce that made his reputation.
Jimothy Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 To be honest MON hasn't been the same since Villa and I don't believe he wanted to leave Villa when he did, the reason he offered his resignation from Villa was because he didn't wanna see James Milner go and he thought he could blackmail the board, in which it didn't work sadly Got alot of respect for MON hope that wasn't his last job, please say he's gonna come home So the Sunderland job then, seeing as that's the only thing he's done since Villa.
kingfox Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Get him, sack Pearson. For Sunderland, this could be an actually perfect time for Solskjaer to step into English Management. But just seen SkyBet, have installed McClaren as favourite.
Neil_LCFC Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Wasn't the Sunderland job the first one he did without Robertson as his assistant ? maybe the 2 of them need to get back together for when they come back to Leicester.
Vacamion Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Now THIS from a Sunderland fan made me - talk about drunken optimism!
foxfanazer Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Not shocked by this. Looked terrible everytime I've seen them play, devoid of any ideas and have Titus Bramble at centre back
Super_horns Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 I am surprised its taken so long TBH...and it might be too late.] Ofcourse the players could take some responability themselves but then they cannot be sacked and the manager is the man meant to motivate them which clearly hasn't happened. Motivation was one of O'Neil's strong points..
Fox92 Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Not too shocked either, they have looked poor whenever I've seen them on the tv, in addition to the fact he's spent quite a bit of money (the likes of Graham, Johnson, Fletcher). He'll not manage any of his former clubs due to his reputation already there.
21st Century Fox Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Di Canio the frontrunner to replace him! I can't see the logic behind this at all.
I am Rod Hull Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Di Canio the frontrunner to replace him! I can't see the logic behind this at all. 1/12 on SkyBet
Happy Fox Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 I couldn't see the logic in Southampton in sacking Adkins and appointing Mauricio Pochettino however it doesn't seem to have done then any harm. It will be interesting to see how he does at that level.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 Wonder if he'll be getting the players to dive just like he would. But in seriousness thats a big step for him in a short time
leicesterisme Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 They certainly can't do any worse than they have recently, they're fvcking terrible.
