Strokes Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 It's the modern day thing to over react. It shouldn't have happened but has been blown out of proportion when being related to as a "headbutt".people make a living out of whipping up these emotions and should just....
RobHawk Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Why are people overreacting about pardew? Savage calling for him to be sacked, what a cúnt. Didn't really call him for him to be sacked, he stated he thought his position was untenable because of how players would react to being disciplined by a manager who did that. I agree with him but it's Newcastles call at the end of the day. It could still turn round and hurt him later down the line. I think Pardew was completely out of order, Meyler hardly touched him and he was clearly just looking to get the ball. Pardew completely overreacted and I think it's appalling behaviour. It's bad enough when players do it, but at least they are taking part in a contact sport and not just stood on the sidelines. Why shouldn't people react?
StanSP Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 £100k fine from the club and a formal warning accepted by Pardew. It has been blown way out of proportion and there's some instances on the pitch where it happens and goes totally unnoticed or unpunished. I guess the over-reaction is because it is a manager doing it and it sets the totally wrong precedent for the rest of his team.

Its not like his Newcastle side are notoriously dirty and he has to discipline them. It was handbags at best, appalling not really, unsavoury maybe. Overreaction, most definitely!Meyler hardly touched him , he hardly touched meyler.

Overreaction, most definitely! Meyler hardly touched him , he hardly touched meyler. It wasn't so much the "head but" but his overreaction to nothing. There really was no need. I still can't fathom what was going through his head. There was clear intention there too whether he really connected or not. Like the said on MOTD fair play to Meyler, some players would have gone down like a sack of shit. Funniest thing about it though was a quote from Pardew after the match, I was crying with laughter when he said "I was just trying to push him away................... With my head"

Haydos Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Unprofessional as fvck so you have to laugh but those calling for him to be sacked can fvcking take a day off themselves. Calm down for christ sake.
ScouseFox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Liverpool play Chelsea and City at home and they are proper sick at home. They genuinely could win the league. I doubt it but they proper could. It would be boss if they did like.

Samilktray Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Liverpool winning the league would be absolutely vile.
Matt Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Liverpool winning the league would be absolutely vile. Not near as vile as Arsenal.
Vacamion Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I know it's poor form to judge someone on their appearance and nationality, but has anyone else noticed just how sinister and creepy the new Fulham boss Felix Magath is? When they interviewed him on MOTD, that softly spoken German accent and aura of calm and cool teutonic authority left me in little doubt that he goes home after the game and gets his gimp to slam his baws in the fridge door for half an hour before he feasts on boiled children... Creepier than the Lindt chocolatiers in the adverts. [shudder]
isaidno Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Brilliant goal by Benteke. Against the run of play , Villa have been quite poor
isaidno Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Wasn't expecting much from this match but it's been good so far
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Not near as vile as Arsenal. I am sure Arsenal will yet again be quite content with a top 4 finish, this was their chance of the title this season and all they bought in the transfer window was someone with a bad back. Don't understand Arsenal at all. Villa could score 6 or 7 today, 4-1 now!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Hughton Dare they try and come in for Nigel if he did go?
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Dare they try and come in for Nigel if he did go? They could go for Malky. I say that just because he obviously played for them.
Jimothy Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Dare they try and come in for Nigel if he did go? They could go for Malky. I say that just because he obviously played for them. I'd agree with Fox92. Mackay has the connection to the club and the premier league experience, all be it very brief.
Matt Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Dare they try and come in for Nigel if he did go? Don't think Nige would go. Think he wants to finish the job - Do even more in the job he's in, in the Prem, possible match/eclipse what MON - In time the potential is there. It looks good on CV if he stops aswell.
