21st Century Fox Posted 19 December 2013 Posted 19 December 2013 Who's going to sign up to join that circus? Tan will get all he deserves if he can't find a decent manager to replace him. Would anyone be that surprised if Vinny T appointed himself manager?
RowlattsFox Posted 19 December 2013 Posted 19 December 2013 The only chairman which would give di canio a chance in the premier league. Now that would be an interesting combination.
StanSP Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Suarez has signed a new long-term contract at Liverpool.
davieG Posted 20 December 2013 Author Posted 20 December 2013 Luis Suarez has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Liverpool. The striker, 26, joined the Reds in January 2011 and has scored 17 goals in 11 Premier League starts this season. Suarez, whose original deal was set to expire in 2016, will earn around £160,000 until the end of this season and then £200,000 per week over the final four years of the contract. Luis at Liverpool 2011: January - Liverpool agree a deal worth up to £22.8m with Ajax for Suarez February - Scores on his Liverpool debut as the Reds beat Stoke 2-0 December - The Football Association bans Suarez for eight matches and fine him £40,000 after he was charged for racially abusing Manchester United Patrice Evra 2012: February - Suarez appears to refuse to shake Evra's hand on his return to Liverpool's first XI. He goes on to score in the Reds' 2-1 loss to Manchester United. August - Agrees a news long-term deal at Liverpool 2013: April - Receives a 10-game ban by an independent regulatory commission for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in a match on 21 April September: Returns from his 10-match ban in a League Cup tie at Manchester United December: Score twice against Tottenham to take his tally to 17 goals in 12 games for the season "I am delighted to have agreed a new deal with Liverpool and have my future secured for the long term," he said. "I believe I can achieve the ambitions of winning trophies and playing at the very highest level with Liverpool. My aim is to help get us there as quickly as possible." Suarez's relationship with leading figures at Anfield has improved significantly since he attempted to force a move to Arsenal in the summer. The Gunners made two bids for the Uruguay international, including a club-record offer of £40m plus £1 in an attempt to trigger a release clause in his contract. Both were rejected, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers accusing Arsenal of"playing games". Suarez was considering submitting a formal transfer request and also the possibility of court action if the dispute was not resolved as he believed the second bid triggered a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave the Anfield club. Suarez was initially made to train alone during pre-season, but returned to the first-team fold on 16 August after talks with Rodgers. "This is fantastic news for everyone associated with the club; the team, the owners and most importantly the supporters,"Rodgers said on Liverpool's official website. "Luis is a world-class talent and securing his services is crucial for what we are trying to achieve here. "What's most important and most exciting is that, at just 26 years old, his best years are still ahead of him and we now know we'll be seeing him reach that potential in a Liverpool shirt." Suarez's time at Liverpool has often been controversial and he has previously been handed handed two long-term bans. He was banned for eight games in December 2011 for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and received a 10-match ban in April this year for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
Super_horns Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Malky left us because the former owner we had was a bit crazy..not had much luck working with them. Will get a decent job elsewhere.. As for Suarez - good news for Liverpool of course but clearly he isn't worried about he press attention now.
purpleronnie Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Does it really mean anything though? If a player wants to leave then more often than not the club will let them.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 I bet he's signed on the proviso that they make the CL next season or if they don't they'll let him leave in the summer and be able to command a higher fee for him given he'll be on a hefty contract to buy out.
ScouseFox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Celebrates his 200 grand a week by buying a trolley full of corona and with a goal against Cardiff.
Haydos Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 2 already today Guy is incredible at the moment. With regards to the contract situation i'll say the same as i have elsewhere. They've given him a bit extra and the potential to stay for years. If they do well then he's more than likely going to stay and what they have done will have been deemed a success. If not then they tried and they'll also get a massive amount of money for him. Everyone is a winner (apart from Real Madrid. For the moment.)
ScouseFox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 10 goals in his last 3 and a half games. I think it's 5 or 6 assists in that time, too. Absolutely ridiculous.
marko Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 What a pass that is from Negredo. Not wanting to detract from it because it was excellent vision, technique and execution, but it was woefully defended.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Fair play to Jake Livimore. Replacing the 6k camera he knackered and donating the same amount to charity.
Jimothy Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 I questioned AVB's team selections at times, with his constant chopping and changing, his persistent isolation of Soldardo etc, but this Sherwood team looks like a suicidal selection. 442 with a midfield of Lamela, Erikson, Dembele and Sigurdsson. Surely far too attack minded, no ball winner. Erikson is best used behind the striker, not in the middle of a midfield two. Can just see them being overwhelmed today.

I agree, it seems ridiculously naive. Just because the fans want attacking football, you don't have to go that all out.
Kitchandro Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Lallana has to be on the plane to Brazil. The more of these exciting young midfielders we have in the squad the better. Lallana, Barkley, Wilshere, Townsend, Sterling. Tek em all.
Kitchandro Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Quinn is an absolute pillock. Basically saying that because the players didn't protest it's not a penalty. Bloody hell, what has become of commentating? He can't even have an opinion strong enough to say that was a definite penalty. What are they paying him for? His accent?

Quinn is the second worst Sky pundit/co-commentator after Don Goodman. Absolutely dreadful at the job. He struggles to impartial if he working on a Sunderland game, he has no real opinions on anything. He's just terrible.
StanSP Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Barkley wins it with a stunning free-kick. Everton in to the top 4!

Stadt Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Hyping Barkley is the worst possible thing to do but he's the best prospect we've had in years. Much better than the overrated, injury prone Wilshere.

Much better than the overrated, injury prone Wilshere. Wilshere was quality before his injuries. We've actually got quite a few promising youugsters at the moment.
