Morgan was in a forest team that got to play offs, Whitbread in a norwich promotion side, keane man its youth, hobbs promotion with Hull. SSL was only bought because sven is mates with trapatoni who was Irelands manager. He is always veal for them too. He had an ok run in the team but has to many mistakes in him. Sick of hearing ppl harp on about him, its only because he's not in the side, if he was he'd be rubbish and ppl would slag him off. The same SSL that was in Prestons play-off campaigns in the Championship for around three or four seasons?
smudger63 Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 Thought Hobbs was overrated tbf I thought Hobbs was decent as an old fashioned stopper type of centre half. His problem came when Sousa and then Sven took over, and wanted to turn him into Rio Ferdinand.

So Mr Pearson all you need to do is find out who the one player was that stopped us winning the league last season. Sell him replace him with a better player and Bobs you're uncle we will piss this league.

I'd expect he felt cautious about coming back. Who can blame him.

davieG Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 We need someone that is comfortable in the left CB position along side Morgan, Hobbs was a decent stopper but was more of a hoofer than anything that's why he was ok on the right of Brown when our football was predominantly hoofing it. Add to that the few times he played on the left he was really poor. He would have been decent cover for Morgan but to partner Morgan on the left absolutely not.
