Fox92 Posted 3 August 2014 Posted 3 August 2014 Yeah fvck this now. Can't win for anything. Even played Cardiff who are bottom and they beat me. Hoping Everton get relegated and they want me because I'd like a fresh challenge after 11 years at Leicester.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 August 2014 Posted 3 August 2014 Taking First Vienna to their first Austrian Bundesliga title in 60 years after leading them to promotion the previous campaign, just got to stave off Red Bull Salzburg who are breathing down my neck. Wage budget is only 50% of turnover, given I average 4k a game it's been a challenge. Signed a lot of steady Cameroonian kids on the cheap with a fantastic sell on value (I did this on the game, too), and they've seen me alright.
Fox92 Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Dunno whether to resign. Finished 10th in my 11th season as Leicester manager. Want another challenge, but no jobs at the minute. Unless I resign then sit it out till everyone starts getting sacked October/November time?
Samilktray Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Anyone got any suggestions for interesting teams to start with? My network game with Arsenal is ticking along nicely but I need a save for when I'm not playing that 1
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Got to CL quarter final with Dundee Utd Increidble run. So want to win a European trophy with a spl team
Beliall Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Anyone got any suggestions for interesting teams to start with? My network game with Arsenal is ticking along nicely but I need a save for when I'm not playing that 1 I would really like to get a network game going with you guys on here, its been suggested before, I know, bit if we were to restrict it to only the most regular players in this thread, then maybe we could avoid the pitfalls? Unless we all have to on simultaneously? I have never played a network game, maybe someone can enlighten me on how it works?

They can be a nightmare if loads of people are involved.
Dan Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 I've just started at Hamburg who might not be a bad side for you if you fancy a team who has no money in its first year, some quality youngsters, some quality players but a lot of shit and an imbalanced squad in general. Oh and a side who has just lost their opening game at Leverkusen despite leading in the 87th minute.
dmayne7 Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Got this a couple of months ago after skipping 13 and found it so much harder at first. Still took the championship title on the last day of the season but my second half of the season form, was shocking. Finished 15th in my first season in the prem despite having a pretty good team. 2015/2016 season I recovered after a dodgy start and missed out the champions league by 1 goal! Spurs, Arsenal and us finished on 71 and my GD was 25+, Spurs' 26+. Frustrating as I had more goals scored. I won my last game 3-1 but that conceded goal costed me as I had a much better goals for total than Spurs. Had the most outrageous set of fixtures to start the season but on the road to recovery. I reckon I'll get Champions League this season at least, then the title next year. I tend to find that once I win the title, I win it every year after. The key is to be really ruthless and get rid of players with a low star rating even if they play well. Has a bigger impact on the overall team performance.
Samilktray Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Started a save with Tenerife in the end. Fvck all money but a few decent prospects. Spent most of my budget on staff and signed a couple of free agents and a lad from Real Madrids C team who looks potentially very good. Aiming for a top half finish/late promotion charge.
Beliall Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 The less people playing the better. They can be a nightmare if loads of people are involved. so is anyone interested? looking at you danLCFC, stan, sam et al
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Slightly off topic but does anyone know the last FM game where you didn't require steam?
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 2009? my oldest on steam is 2010 Cheers, I want to get back into FM but my internet is rubbish.
Dan Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 so is anyone interested? looking at you danLCFC, stan, sam et al Possibly mate though people need to be patient with it.
Beliall Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Someone needs to explain how it works, so we could plan it going forward, I have no idea how it would run
The Doctor Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Slightly off topic but does anyone know the last FM game where you didn't require steam? 2009 you could also activate by phone, 2008 was the last one where you could just install and go.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Slightly off topic but does anyone know the last FM game where you didn't require steam? FM 11 I believe.
Frost Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 I've just started at Hamburg who might not be a bad side for you if you fancy a team who has no money in its first year, some quality youngsters, some quality players but a lot of shit and an imbalanced squad in general. Oh and a side who has just lost their opening game at Leverkusen despite leading in the 87th minute. I started as Hamburg. Finished 3rd first season. Finished 5th second season, lost out on CL on goal difference. Bad start in the 3rd after 5 games but hoping to turn it around. Calhanoglu is unreal. Sold Adler for £20m. Will post a bit more detail later on. You get barely any transfer money because of the high wage bill to begin with, I had to get rid of Van der Vaart..
Cat Burger Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 I have a decent game going on with AIK Stockholm at the minute. Gary Teale has been my best signing, haha.
Beliall Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Bossing the league with guisley, 10 games left and my 4 star loanees cant be extended as their parent clubs want them to play with better players. Panic stations.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Won the Austrian Bundesliga with First Vienna, manged to overcome Olimpija and Anderlecht in the CL play-offs to get drawn into a group with Inter, Man City and PSV - finished third so at least bagged Europa. The money it's sorted me out with has been incredible, lost twice and drew four and it's put me well in the green, upgraded youth and training gaffs and buying the stadium to expand on the 5,500 capacity. Signed a tonne of young Slovaks / Solvenians on the cheap; **** domestic player bias. Got one who's like a budget Messi, only seventeen but already far too good for the level I'm at, 70K and £600 a week on a 5 year deal. BOSTIN Pretty sure I'm going to win the league again but as per Red Bull won't go away.
RonnieTodger Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Look good for 2nd with Aberdeen. Lost the League Cup final in extra time to Celtic. Signed Chris Katongo (Zambia captain) on a free, he's lethal!
