If we can offload Wellens, Danns, SSL, Gallagher & maybe Konchesky... We might be able to bring another couple of free signings in too. If we can't then we won't

GingerrrFox Posted 21 July 2013 Posted 21 July 2013 Hopefully free up Konchesky to leave, think we can put Liverpool-class wages to better use than a solitary left back. Him + development squad member as backup should be enough & a big improvement on Konchesky + Schlupp (who needs more experience, prob on loan to a div 1 club until Christmas & joining us in January with games under his belt... Unless he's learnt a hell of a lot in preseason) We need a fast left back who can bring the ball forward & not a hoofer who costs us possession Schlupp was one of the best players on the pitch against Leamington (granted it was against non-league opposition) but he performed a hell of a lot better than some of our players. No chance he goes on loan this season.

NewburyFox Posted 21 July 2013 Posted 21 July 2013 I'd never heard of him until about 20 minutes ago, but I find myself incredibly excited just because we're signing someone! Plus LB was a spot that we needed to fill this summer, Konch is beginning to struggle now and Schlupp is better up front. Also, to have so much pace on the flanks is a great asset to have.
