Smudge Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Hey! Don't make me the bogie man. We all nose you is
MrSpaM Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 How are they going to proove somebody has spat on the floor without doing a dna test?
The Blur Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 I always have this dilemma while running ( not in city centre mind), I just have to spit and get rid of saliva but I always feel guilty for doing so. I usually end up spitting them into bushes.
wattolcfc Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Wasn't spitting in streets the main cause of an outbreak of T.B in medieval times? Totally agree with the fine, never felt the need to spit in the street, it's disgusting.
Smudge Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 How are they going to proove somebody has spat on the floor without doing a dna test? The same way as a cop says you've commited a traffic offense, the beak will take his word against yours.
StanSP Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 You wouldn't do it on a football pitch, would you? Totally agree with the fine and punishment. It's a dirty habit and I hope the fine also spreads nationwide.
MPH Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Don't agree at all. I find a lot of things unappealing but that doesn't mean these actions should incur fines of that amount. An overly authoritarian reaction to a very, very trivial matter indeed. But if we're into the business on clamping down on liberties we find unpleasant I hope we get rid of those religious chaps in town, they're much worse than spitters. Do you have any idea how many diseases and infections can be spread simply by someone spitting in the street? It isn't a 'liberty' to spit, its down right selfish and disgusting as well as, already stated a way of spreading diseases and infections. Here is a List: Common Cold Flu Upper Respiratory Infection Meningitis Bacterial meningitis Mononucleosis Epstein-Barr virus Cold sores Cytomegalovirus Molluscum contagiosum Hepatitis B Chronic Hepatitis B Polio This list missed off TB which can be caught from spitting too...
MPH Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Equally disgusting? As if by any stretch of the imagination one could consider spitting to be on the same level as urinating. You can catch many more diseases and infections from spitting.
lavrentis Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Disgusting "habit". Shame it will be loosely enforced.
johnny the fox Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKjPosgpxlw 80 quid is not enough.................
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 You dont see them massive greenies these days. I used to fetch the newspaper before school when I was a kid and they were commonplace, like white dog shit, dont see that anymore either. Thats global warming for you....

Hadn't really thought about that. But then it's hard to imagine how one could catch a disease from someone spitting on the ground for others to tread on.
Dan Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Spit in the street, £80 fine. Nick a car, run from the police, put peoples lives at risk and get a suspended sentence (ie, get away with it), sounds about right.
JonnyBoy Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 you get fined for dropping cigarettes, and people spitting on the street is more offensive. So good
DennisNedry Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Spitting - the habit of chavs and old dirty Indians.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 It's about time that people who spit got roasted.
Captain... Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 What about if you swallow a fly, I did that and spat it out in the street. I think there should be a distinction between gobbing, which is spitting for the sake of it and is disgusting, and times when you need to spit, such as swallowing a fly, after a blow job, or if you drink something and it goes down the wrong way. It's like pissing in the street, you know you shouldn't do it, but sometimes the alternative is pissing yourself, so it is the lesser of 2 evils, as long as you do it subtly and the alternative to not spitting is choking to death I think it is very harsh to fine someone.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 People caught spitting in street face £80 fine http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Street-spitters-Leicester-face-80-fines/story-19997714-detail/story.html Where else in the country would a person get fined like this ? £60 tickets I dished out down hear a couple of times, and also for fag end dropping (litter), plus dog fouling. Probably gone up now though. Spitting is a vile habit.

I usually end up spitting them into bushes. Wrong, you don't have to spit, you decide to spit for whatever reason you feel it is right. If you were in a gym on a treadmill would you still keep spitting? Likewise anyone who plays football, rugby, they see fit to spit all the time, get in a squash court, badminton court etc, I bet they wouldn't then.
Strokes Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Haha, can't see the scrubbers that actually spit all over place giving a flying ****. The dregs of society don't have any money.
stevelcfc Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Good, glad something is being done. If you have a problem with it, its probably because you are one of the dirty tramps doing it!
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 October 2013 Posted 28 October 2013 Never felt the need to spit, even when marathon training or playing football - dirty and downright disrespectful thing to do. £80 fine is fair.
