How are they going to proove somebody has spat on the floor without doing a dna test?

I always have this dilemma while running ( not in city centre mind), I just have to spit and get rid of saliva but I always feel guilty for doing so. I usually end up spitting them into bushes.

Wasn't spitting in streets the main cause of an outbreak of T.B in medieval times? Totally agree with the fine, never felt the need to spit in the street, it's disgusting.

Totally agree with the fine and punishment. It's a dirty habit and I hope the fine also spreads nationwide.

Don't agree at all. I find a lot of things unappealing but that doesn't mean these actions should incur fines of that amount. An overly authoritarian reaction to a very, very trivial matter indeed.

 

But if we're into the business on clamping down on liberties we find unpleasant I hope we get rid of those religious chaps in town,  they're much worse than spitters.

 

 

Do you have any idea how many diseases and infections can be spread simply by someone spitting in the street?

 

It isn't a 'liberty' to spit, its down right selfish and disgusting as well as, already stated a way of spreading diseases and infections.

You dont see them massive greenies these days. I used to fetch the newspaper before school when I was a kid and they were commonplace, like white dog shit, dont see that anymore either.

What about if you swallow a fly, I did that and spat it out in the street.

 

I think there should be a distinction between gobbing, which is spitting for the sake of it and is disgusting, and times when you need to spit, such as swallowing a fly, after a blow job, or if you drink something and it goes down the wrong way.

 

It's like pissing in the street, you know you shouldn't do it, but sometimes the alternative is pissing yourself, so it is the lesser of 2 evils, as long as you do it subtly and the alternative to not spitting is choking to death I think it is very harsh to fine someone.

£60 tickets I dished out down hear a couple of times, and also for fag end dropping (litter), plus dog fouling. Probably gone up now though.

Wrong, you don't have to spit, you decide to spit for whatever reason you feel it is right.

If you were in a gym on a treadmill would you still keep spitting?

Likewise anyone who plays football, rugby, they see fit to spit all the time, get in a squash court, badminton court etc, I bet they wouldn't then.

Never felt the need to spit, even when marathon training or playing football - dirty and downright disrespectful thing to do. £80 fine is fair.
