ramadaone Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 From the ratings today he got between 6 and 7.5 playing at left back so guessing he did ok but nothing special ? One area we looked like requiring cover for sure was left back but could Miquel and / or Jeff do this should Konch get injured ? Personally think Pearson is going to do the absolute bare minimum during the transfer window in fear of upsetting the balance of the squad so this could be one less position he needs to worry about.

Dont forget about Zoom
foxfanazer Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 It's the only position I consider our weak spot. I do like konchesky but I feel with quality opposition he can be exposed
theessexfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I think, based on today's performance, Konchesky's solidarity and Schlupp's capability, we're covered at left back.
ramadaone Posted 1 January 2014 Author Posted 1 January 2014 Dont forget about Zoom He is one of Terry's signings so no way is Pearson going to pick him
KFS Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He's had a good game at LB today, I'd sign him up at the end of his contract if he's willing.
GorlestonFox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He is one of Terry's signings so no way is Pearson going to pick him Do we know this for sure?
Captain... Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He is one of Terry's signings so no way is Pearson going to pick him What you chatting about? You still drunk from last night?
Jimmy Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Zoom is supposed to be able to cross a decent ball and is rapid, cover for Lloyd if we loan Jeff out
Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Bakayogo is not good enough, if he was he would of featured by now on the bench.
lgfualol Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He is one of Terry's signings so no way is Pearson going to pick him Who is Terry
ramadaone Posted 1 January 2014 Author Posted 1 January 2014 What you chatting about? You still drunk from last night? No sober as a judge...
21st Century Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Who is Terry Robinson, our Director of Football.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Bakayogo is a better left winger from what little I've seen of him
Tom17LCFC Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I swear someone on here said he wouldn't be offered a new contract by Arsenal at the end of the season meaning he'd be available on a free so I wouldn't be surprised if we got him permanently.
TJB-fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Miquel was very very good today I thought? Composed on the ball yet tenacious in the tackle. They're best player was Chaplow surprisingly, and I thought ignasi did a good job on him today. part of an assured back 4.
VLC86 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Bakayogo is a better left winger from what little I've seen of him From what Iv seen he's a better left bollock than he is a left winger
LCFC FOX Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Very talented defender, I think he has a big future
Dan Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Miquel was very very good today I thought? Composed on the ball yet tenacious in the tackle. They're best player was Chaplow surprisingly, and I thought ignasi did a good job on him today. part of an assured back 4. As usual. He's a very under-rated player for me and he normally always plays very well against us.
fleckneymike Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Thought he played well for a CB playing at LB. The conditions were bad and he never looked unduly troubled.
Stadt Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 As usual. He's a very under-rated player for me and he normally always plays very well against us.I'm surprised he's at Millwall because he's alright could probably do better.
Fox92 Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I'm under the impression Bakayogo is better going forward than he is defensively. That said, I haven't personally seen him yet and I'm not sure if he's rated that much considering he hasn't made a league appearence yet. Konchesky is still ok at full back and Schlupp is decent enough cover. Miquel can also cover, as stated, although I do rate him as a centre back. Very good on the ball.
Mack Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Miquel is a centre half who can do a bit at full back. He did OK yesterday in that role but is a stay at home type of defender and with our preferred system we need the Konch De Laet type of raiding forward full back to double up and overlap with Dyer and Knockaert. He's a handy lad to have around and Pearson by his own admission in the post match interview explained he opted for 4 centre halfs across the back yesterday to deal with Millwall's aerial bombardment, and I felt it worked well, but this type of selection is a specialist one and could not be chosen on a regular basis. I'd say that we have 4 very decent centre halfs at the club, Morgan and Moore being first pick with Wasil and Miquel providing cover, whilst they can both fill in at full back if we have injury problems. Sadly Bakayogo from what I have seen of him is in a league above his capabilities.
