Jacnah Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I fail to see why he needs congratulations. He's currently grossly over paid (has been for the best part of 3 years), he's about to be unemployed so has decided to take a more realistic wage. this. All the same Im glad he has signed.
Haydos Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Good lad, always seemed like a no fuss lad since he's been here. Bit ropey at times but solid enough. I trust Pearson's decision if they've managed to negotiate a more reasonable salary. In a way I guess it was predictable. We're not going to offer the same again, he's aging and he's knows he's not going to get it anywhere else so why leave when it seems he is happy here? That's what makes me think we'll be able to do something similar with Nuge, he's in the same boat.
Aus Fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 A minutes applause in the 50th minute to thank him for a 50% pay cut?
Beliall Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 how about a 90 minute sit down in appreciation of conrad?
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Don't get all this "well done Paul" nonsense. The guy was never going to get anything near what he was already on here and by staying he's probably guaranteed himself a higher wage than he would have got at any other club that he could realistically expect to sign for. Staying here gives him a shot at playing for a team in The Prem as well. This deal is as good for Paul Konchesky as for anyone else. Having said that, he's been good for us again this season. Last season he looked like his legs had gone so I'm not sure he'll be able to be a starter for us if we gain promotion but I think the biggest thing is keeping this squad together more than the individuals in it.

The important thing is that its a good deal for Leicester City football club. If we go up we'll look to replace Konch near the end of his contract. If we don't go up, we'll have a decent player for another year in the Championship. Its win-win really.
Blanesta Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Good news! Well done Paul, Hopefully the others will be sorted soon.
ousefox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Always liked him and gets a lot of unfair criticism. Gets up and down the wing a hell of a lot for a 32 year old and had no problem playing against Navas in the City game at all.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Another piece of very sensible business by the club which currently seems to be run very well. I agree Col
StanSP Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 That is extremely decent of him. Fair play. Has improved a lot this season compared to last.
fleckneymike Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 After today can we knock a bit more off his wage?
Unabomber Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 After today can we knock a bit more off his wage? I say every missed placed pass should knock £10 off of his wage. Actually that's harsh he should be on at least minimum wage.

MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Can't remember their supposedly great wingers getting the better of him that often. Good solid professional whose experience is vital.

Unabomber Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 It's his distribution that lets him down at the min. This. It is pretty impressive how rarely he actually gets beat by wingers.
Mark_w Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 how about a 90 minute sit down in appreciation of conrad? We've been doing that for years.
Foxfromburbage Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I applaud this bit of news and Paul Konchesky is a blue
MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 For me I want a defender who can defend primarily, if he can play a bit too, that's a bonus. Konch is steady and reliable. Glad he's committed to another season as he could be good in teaching a new left back the business. He's also got 100% record from the penalty spot for Leicester!!!!
Dr The Singh Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Gives us another to find replacement, he's not the quickest but he is talented!!
