I don't give a shit if QPR catch us, as long as no one else does.

Basically this.

We want to get promoted. If we get up, even through the play-offs, it will have been a spectacular success for us.

If QPR don't win the league with the squad they've got and BEST MANAGER ENGLAND NEVER HAD EXCEPT BRIAN CLOUGH BUT CLOUGHIE NEVER MANAGED WEST HAM SO MAYBE EVEN BETTER THAN CLOUGHIE Harry Redknapp in charge, it will have been an absolutely spectacular cock up.

QPR should just concentrate on staying ahead of Burnley. If they catch in the mean time all the better for them.

Oneboro is deluded.

They were clearly frustrated in the second half as they were outplayed, all they could offer in return was a physical approach.Vardy took an elbow in the face from their cart horse centre back he had words with him as he was substituted.

Go further in the thread I put them in there not great but watchable lol;)

Personally I'm more bothered about how many points clear of third we are.

QPR v Burnley next Saturday. Draw please.

Sorry but I want us to win the title, anything less than top from this position will be a major disappointment.

A title is a title, it's like saying I'm just glad to make the cup final I don't care if we lose.

We all want to with the title but promotion is the main aim.

We can worry about winning the title when we're sure 3rd place aren't going to catch us.

I listened to the radio teeside after match show on the i player last night, and i`m still not quite sure which game they were watching!

According to their commentary team and fans that rung the show, the ref was poor and cost them the game.

They reckon the ball was a yard out of play for our first goal, and our second goal shouldn`t have been a free kick.

They also reckon that they more than matched us, and were actually the better team, and should have had the game wrapped up by half time!

From where i was watching, there wasn`t much between the teams in the first half, but certainly the pitch hindered our usual style of play, but then once the rain stopped, and the pitch started to improve, we were all over them, and by far and away the better team.

As for our first goal, which was right in front of me, i was more concerned that it might have been disallowed for Nugent giving the defender a nudge, than the ball being out of play.

Having seen the replay though, Nugents challenge seemed fair, and i think it`s quite difficult to see whether the whole of the ball was out of play or not.

Certainly not an obvious yard out, as they would have you believe.

As for our second goal, not only was it a free kick, but i thought their defender was lucky to stay on the pitch, for what was more of an assault on Vardy than a fair challenge!

Not really, nobody cares who wins the Championship title. It's hardly a major honour.

It would be disappointing not to win it now but it's not comparable to a cup final.

Injuries happen. We've got 19 games and I'll be amazed if one or two players don't pick up some kind of injury. It's a shame, I'd rather it hadn't happened, but it's why we have a squad and we'll have to carry on without him. I'm not gonna hope we draw or lose every game but finish with a clean bill of health, I want us to win every game and injuries are an unfortunate rare occurrence. It wasn't one or the other today, he wouldn't have not been injured if we drew you know.

LeTissier should take our penalties!

My take on the game

A really strange one ,met up with the boro south guys a really good bunch and id rekomend anyone to get in touch if your going to a game down south

Nice weather until 5 mins before KO when the heavens opened and hail came down and advertising boards took off and flew across the pitch a few came in late bob mortimer among them and looked like drowned rats

The pitch was awash in the leicester half but ok in ours , carayol looked on fire but anyone whos played on a pitch like knows what its like to run past the ball as its caught in the water

If wed kicked the other way first half i think we would have tore them to pieces ,

We had 5-6 chances and took none but without the water wed have had 20

Felt really confident at the start of the second half as we had the good half of the pitch , but the combination of frantic pitchforking and the rain stopping meant both halves were playable

Even so we tore them apart for 10 minutes and created numerous chances then they got that goal , shouldnt have stood but ayala should have put it in row Z

From then on we were second best ,

Our passing was off and we looked beaten

lol

The first half was a non-event. I'd have been livid if we hadn't won yesterday because for 45 minutes we were at a disadvantage, not being able to play any football at all. They really must be taking the piss of they are making out one team was better than the other in the first half.

It's funny they reckon they had 6 chances because I can't really remember Kasper having to make a save.

Both halves of the pitch were equally unplayable but at half time the pitchforking only took place in the Boro half, and our attack were definately able to be more smooth than their's. With the surface acceptable we showed our quality and outplayed them quite easily.

I'm a bit fed up of people saying the goal shouldn't have stood. Have any of these people had the balls to test this by freeze framing the highlights? At worst it's way too close to make a confident call and realistically the whole ball is not over the whole of the line. It seems people (including most linesman tbf, I am surprised it wasn't called out) want to call the ball out now if jt's even remotely close to the line.

I could not disagree with you more. We're hardly awash with trophys are we. Plus if we do win it, we hold the record for most second tier titles. A record i'm happy to have.

And we'd more likely to build on that stat than the other team with 9 2nd tier titles because Man City hardly look like they have it in them for any more.  Bet they're gutted.

It was a shame the weather played such a part, unfortunately it meant two sides who clearly wanted to pass the ball were hindered from doing so and rendered the first half an almost non event despite decent efforts.

Thankfully the rain stopped and the pitch was cleared slightly, it allowed us to pass the ball with more fluency and get some sustained pressure. They barely had a chance in the second half and we scored two neat goals, the first from a debatable "was it out of play?" but good work from Nugent to not give it up. Then, another penalty, another foul on Vardy but poor penalty really. However, it didn't hinder us for long and Ayala needlessly shoved Vardy off the pitch under no real pressure, allowing James to deliver a nice free-kick for De Laet to nod home. Mahrez coming on was good and he showed some nice touches and good link-up as we sensibly saw the game through.

8 points clear and in a maginificent position, as well as run of form. Enjoying football a lot this season.

Posted these in the thread I've created but thought I'd put them in here as well. Up to how you see it but personally there's a very big chance the ball didn't even go out of play for the first goal. Can't be certain without a view down the line but it's hardly "a yard out" or a "ridiculous decision"

If I had to make a decision based on those pictures I'd have to say tbe ball is in play. The ref and linesman have to be certain the whole ball was out and there is no way they can be from that

Impossible to be 100% sure, but it looks to me, as if the base of the ball (connected to the floor) is out, but it's a round object, and some of it appears on the line (Well, above the line) and therefore in.

Either way, we can't tell and have seen it how many times, so no way the Ref can Linesman can be certain it's out of play, so they can't call it any other way. Amazed nobody has slagged off that defender, because that ball should have ended up in Filbert Street :D
