Jace Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I bet we are currently in a much better position for FFP than they are
kingfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Moore is injured, we cross that bridge when we come to it.... it's about the collective goal and not individuals. Yeah for three weeks. Will miss probably four games. And what happens when we cross that bridge, we would definitely have the best defensive options in the Championship, but dropping Liam in a drop of a hat would be unacceptable and poor management. It will go to show, how much Pearson favoritizes Jack Hobbs.
yorkie1999 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Prefer Craig Dawson on loan till the end of the season seeing as wba are looking to loan him out.
Ric Flair Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Do Hull still not do business with Leicester City?
gerrytaggart Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 (He's better than Liam Moore too) I dont agree with that. He is solid and reads the game quite well but has no pace and struggles to find a pass (based on his time with us and the few games ive seen for the trees). Moore is better in my opinion,....but i do think Hobbs, Morgan, moore (when fit) and Was battling for two places would be great.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Have people not learnt from Pearson's other transfer business? Trust the bloke.
gerrytaggart Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Yeah for three weeks. Will miss probably four games. And what happens when we cross that bridge, we would definitely have the best defensive options in the Championship, but dropping Liam in a drop of a hat would be unacceptable and poor management. It will go to show, how much Pearson favoritizes Jack Hobbs. Cant see Nigel doing that...we are talking about signing Hobbs as a result of Moore being injured. If we did sign Hobbs and he came in and did a great job then it would be up to Moore to win his place back...absolutely nothing to do with playing favourites?!
Jace Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I dont think there is much difference between Moore, Hobbs and Morgan the advantage to Hobbs is he is experienced enough to cover Morgan as well as Moore I can imagine Hull will be the biggest problem in this deal though
Jakemoore Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 "We'll sign who we want, we'll sign who we waaaant, we're leicester city, we'll sign who we want" - this at the forest game!
WhispyWizard Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Yeah for three weeks. Will miss probably four games. And what happens when we cross that bridge, we would definitely have the best defensive options in the Championship, but dropping Liam in a drop of a hat would be unacceptable and poor management. It will go to show, how much Pearson favoritizes Jack Hobbs. You are aware that Pearsons already signed Hobbs twice right? I don't see anything wrong with this move, Moore is injured and won't be ready after 3 weeks, he'll need to get back upto match fitness and why should Moore be scared of competition anyway? If hes good enough when he returns, Pearson will play him. "We'll sign who we want, we'll sign who we waaaant, we're leicester city, we'll sign who we want" - this at the forest game! "Jack Hobbs is a blue ..."
Happy Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Moore is out for a minimum of 3 weeks, worst case scenario he could be out for much longer which in this instance we need to prepare for and going for a top end championship CB which Jack Hobbs is, is a good deal for us.
Dan Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 This is the best quote from their forum How on earth can they possibly be so blind?
Kitchandro Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Hmmm. Moore is injured but I would hope he will be back soon enough and retake his place in the side. Morgan is our captain for now but if Nigel is thinking of the future how many years can he last at the top level? Wasilewski the same, ageing. Miquel only on loan. So I could sort of see the thinking behind it, then again it seems a strange one. He's got some serious competition in the starting 11.
Babylon Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Yeah for three weeks. Will miss probably four games. And what happens when we cross that bridge, we would definitely have the best defensive options in the Championship, but dropping Liam in a drop of a hat would be unacceptable and poor management. It will go to show, how much Pearson favoritizes Jack Hobbs. MINIMUM... I will wager with you right now it's nearer 8 games than 4. It won't be dropping him though will it, it will be because he's been out injured. That is not dropping someone, that is football. If you miss games and someone comes in and performs well, you have to fight for your place back. So it's not unacceptable or poor management.
kingfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Cant see Nigel doing that...we are talking about signing Hobbs as a result of Moore being injured. If we did sign Hobbs and he came in and did a great job then it would be up to Moore to win his place back...absolutely nothing to do with playing favourites?! See your point. But Jack Hobbs is a starter, Liam Moore is a starter. Just because it will mean getting Hobbs back, would fans be happy to see Liam Moore dropped, when he regains fitness? Would fans be happy to see Morgan & Moore continue their partnership, and see Hobbs getting wasted on the bench? Or is it purely a case of I don't care, as long as we get promoted?
FoxLAD Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 If we have hobbs, we could even look at the 5-3-2 formation again?
Ric Flair Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 We need 4 quality centre halves and right now we kind of have that but one of them we don't own, the other is out injured for at least a month and then there's Wasyl who might only stay until the summer anyway. I thought when Hobbs became available permanently that it's a great opportunity for us for a bit of a bargain as well. Glad we're trying to make it happen.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Is be happy with this, genuine competition for a place and strength in all of those options. This is exactly what will be required in both a successful run in this season and a tough campaign next. We need genuine players to come in that don't weaken our side, that is what I believe NP is trying to build here.
GingerrrFox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 We currently have Morgan, Moore, Wasilewski, St Ledger, Whitbread and Miquel on the books at centre back. Come June we could quite easily be left with just Morgan and Moore. Seeing as the rest are out of contract and Miquel will head back to Arsenal, it makes sense to get Jack Hobbs if he is available.
RowlattsFox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Not convinced we need him and given our current position we have to think about premier league ability. However Pearson clearly rates him and must believe he can add to the squad. If true then there is clearly no faith in wasyl and miquel. He is a solid player though.
kingfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 MINIMUM... I will wager with you right now it's nearer 8 games than 4. If you miss games and someone comes in and performs well, you have to fight for your place back. So it's not unacceptable or poor management. He doesn't deserve to fight for his place, he deserves to start, as soon as he regains fitness. He has been one of our best players this season, sometimes better than Wes, last time Moore was out of the side, he wasn't even getting on the bench, and we ended up loaning him out. It might be nearer to 8 games, but 3 weeks will go fast, we have four games in those three weeks, 8 games takes us into the middle of March. The way fans are acting on here, they are just happy that we're linked with Jack Hobbs and he might return, nobody has mentioned Liam Moore in this.
Deucalion Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I was sad when Sven let Hobbs go for so little, as I was when he did the same with Fryatt. But...Jack Hobbs looked good for Leicester when we played a different game to the one we do now. We did not break with pace then, nor did we pass the ball out from the back. I remember Hobbs as solid in defense but a bit of a hoofer otherwise. Maybe he has developed since he was here. But...it also got on my nerves when both Leicester and Forest were linked with him, he said he could 'only choose' Forest. If he signs, I will give him a chance and the two centre backs on form should be picked, regardless of fan's favourites.

The way fans are acting on here, they are just happy that we're linked with Jack Hobbs and he might return, nobody has mentioned Liam Moore in this. How do you know that Nigel wasn't lining up a move for another defender before Moore's injury. I'll be honest, for all Moore's potential and for the experience of Morgan we have been sloppy at the back on a number of occasions this season. Nigel has gone on record as saying we must improve defensively, which to be fair I feel we have in recent weeks. That said, if there's opportunities to improve the squad then it's a managers responsibility to do so and Hobbs becoming available for as little as £800,000 is a bargain and I can see why Pearson is going for 3rd time lucky on him again. I still think Moore will be first choice but it'll not worry Pearson if signing Hobbs and him having a blinder whilst Moore is out means he's got a dilemma as who to pick alongside Wes, he'll relish it. Liam is an England U21 defender who a lot of our fans believe is destined for the top, if so then being faced with competition from the likes of Hobbs, Miquel and Wasilewski shouldn't be a problem for him.
sylofox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 See your point. But Jack Hobbs is a starter, Liam Moore is a starter. Admire your loyalty to players KF. But personally I don't care who's playing as long as we win. Did Moore rush out and tell fulham he was stopping and did not want to leave our great club. Much as I love him (as a player) it's football and at some point he will fvck off. He's injured not been dropped NP will know how long he is going to be out and is not pre paired to risk our season. Trust in NP not your heart the only ones loyal to the club are us the fans.
