Jack Hobbs - Gone to Forest

Yes it does though. You have three starters, one on the bench, Liam has done fook all wrong this season, and he comes back from an unfortunate injury to find someone else in his place, would be bloody unfair. Some saying it won't be, but if people had a brain, and looked at the bigger picture, then you'll see how unfair it would be.

You say Hobbs would be great cover for Moore, yet again Hobbs is better than sitting on the bench, he would be wasted on the bench, when he could be starting for someone like Forest week in week out.

The last time we had many options in a position was in midfield under Sven, and people moaned.

Right, so if we didnt buy Hobbs, but played Was say in for the 6 games or so and he had an absolute blinder in all 6, you think Moore should walk back into the team either way?

We don't know that Miquel will go at the end of the season.

If possiblke we should keep him as he's cover for LB.

Strange that we're not making a move for Dawson, unless his salary demands are high, probably better than Hobbs & Moore and he scores more goals.

It seems like people think we will have too many central defenders and it will cause a rift and possibly effect the harmony. Let's look at it this way;

Morgan - Starts

Moore - Starts

Was - twilight years

Miquel - not ours

St Ledger - never really happening

Whitbread - on his way out.

By my reckoning if we go up, which is likely, with Hobbs we will have three centre backs and probably need one or two more so I say get him.

I do find it bizarre, to say the least, that there have been nearly 2500 posts on that Florist forum on this subject: nearly a hundred a day on average, and still going. Ummm? Get a life?

[Edited the numbers slightly downwards, but they're still a fvckin' weird lot.]

Just read some of the Forest posts and they think he has done really well this year.  He must've improved over the last 3 years, no surprise really.

Really hope this happens now.

He doesn't deserve to fight for his place, he deserves to start, as soon as he regains fitness.

No-one "deserves" to just walk back into the first team after injury, and Moores mature enough to know that.

How on earth are any of you debating the fact that Hobbs wouldn't add to the team , he has come on heaps and bounds since Sven GAVE him away , I would welcome him back even if he has to sit on the bench or play a part .

He would be a valuable squad member and a very useful one at that , how about we just sit back and enjoy the ride to the premiership

Some people seem to forget just how good Hobbs was under Pearson: he was our Young Player/Player of the Year in his first two seasons, and if it hadn't been for Sven he would have grown with us over the past three years. Moore is excellent, but we need at least three, possibly four, really class defenders - and Hobbs would give us that depth.

Sign him up asap, I say.

And he hadn't even played for us, unlike Hobbs with Forest.

I thought I saw somewhere in here that Was was retiring at end of season?

I think if this is true id be happy as provides cover not only centre back but allows Moore to fill in at RB if required and back from injury plus another solid CB for 3-5-2.

Iv heard from a forest season ticket holder how well Hobbs has improved this season and worried without him forest will struggle! So id sign him up! :)

Was has done well at centre back, played majority of Saturday's game and we kept another clean sheet. We will see what tonight brings, but I will say not getting anyone in and keeping Was partnering Wes is probably a risk not worth taking.

It might be a no brainer, but still when Liam is back, one of him and Hobbs will be on the bench, when both are starters. You'll have poor old Liam coming back from injury which couldn't be helped, and he sees a player in front of him, it really isn't fair on him.

If it was someone else other than Jack Hobbs, I bet more fans would be pissed to see Liam lose his place.

Is Hobbs any better than Liam Moore?

No not really.

So you'd rather we picked a worse player so when Moore is fit he feels he's got his place almost guaranteed?

No thanks, better to have more options, Hobbs will know the situation. We had a lot of crying earlier this season when Moore was dropped/ rested yet he came back and kept his place in the team.

What if Moore is injured for 6 weeks and misses 8 games? On Saturday Was could get injured, then what do we do?

Getting Hobbs is a no brainer, forget staying 'loyal' to Moore, there is no loyalty in football anymore. We want promotion and if that means upsetting moore (he won't be upset, but that's what others are saying), then so be it.

Can't believe some people are saying don't sign him because Moore won't be a starter, footballers relish the chance to get back into the team. This place is a joke.

You mean...Was could get sent off!!!

Your one man assault on the Forest forum had me in stitches Babs lol

Not content with trying to tell idiots how it is on FT, Babs is extending his crusade to the rest of the Midlands! :D
