I'm almost in agreement with you, but as promotion is a very real prospect our best chance in 10 years then I would hate us to rue the opportunity to sign a proven defender and ship a load of goals whilst Moore is out. Sadly, Hobbs isn't available on loan. Hull want to sell him now so they can re-coup some dough. Let's not forget we have a sell-on clause so we'll get him probably £200,000 cheaper than the asking price. It's a no brainer given what's at stake.

Was has done well at centre back, played majority of Saturday's game and we kept another clean sheet. We will see what tonight brings, but I will say not getting anyone in and keeping Was partnering Wes is probably a risk not worth taking.

It might be a no brainer, but still when Liam is back, one of him and Hobbs will be on the bench, when both are starters. You'll have poor old Liam coming back from injury which couldn't be helped, and he sees a player in front of him, it really isn't fair on him.

If it was someone else other than Jack Hobbs, I bet more fans would be pissed to see Liam lose his place.

I don't care which player it is or how much they have improved, if we can bring in someone better then we should do it, on the condition they are capable of PL football if we are signing them for 3 years or so.

Is Hobbs any better than Liam Moore?

No not really.

Not too bothered about what is fair to a player, if someone else is a better player and doesn't disturb the team ethic then they play in the first team.

I think that is very much on NP's mind, he knows Jack is a good lad, and will not rock the boat should he find himself out the team.

Not sure we need him, but who gives a shit when we have 4 top CB's battling for 2 places!

There is also a poll on the Forest forum choosing between Wes and Hobbs. Guess what mother****ers we could have both!

Seriously, does it matter who is supposedly better out of Hobbs or Moore?  Does it matter that they both ideally want starts?  No!  At the moment we have Moore injured for possibly a month, maybe a touch longer.  If we get Hobbs in, he is great cover for Moore, certainly better than other options we currently have to fill the void.

When Moore gets back to full fitness, then let Nigel decide.  If either one of them moans and whinges about not starting, then they get shipped out in the summer anyway.  We already know Pearson doesn't tolerate that nonsense.  If Hobbs comes, and plays the next half a dozen games and then Moore comes back in, its worth every penny if it keeps the boat stable and keeps us top.

What if Moore is injured for 6 weeks and misses 8 games? On Saturday Was could get injured, then what do we do?

Getting Hobbs is a no brainer, forget staying 'loyal' to Moore, there is no loyalty in football anymore. We want promotion and if that means upsetting moore (he won't be upset, but that's what others are saying), then so be it.

Can't believe some people are saying don't sign him because Moore won't be a starter, footballers relish the chance to get back into the team. This place is a joke.

Yes it does though. You have three starters, one on the bench, Liam has done fook all wrong this season, and he comes back from an unfortunate injury to find someone else in his place, would be bloody unfair. Some saying it won't be, but if people had a brain, and looked at the bigger picture, then you'll see how unfair it would be.

You say Hobbs would be great cover for Moore, yet again Hobbs is better than sitting on the bench, he would be wasted on the bench, when he could be starting for someone like Forest week in week out.

The last time we had many options in a position was in midfield under Sven, and people moaned.

People moaned because we had 10 players for each position, they were all shit and we were 13th.

Your whining about fairness is ridiculous. If we get promoted you will be crying into your breakfast about the fact we have decent players sat on the bench. Have a think, 1 person is crying about Moore, almost everyone else thinks there is nothing wrong with signing a good player... I'm sure it's all of us who have no brain.

So you are happy to wait what could be 8 games with little cover for LM to get back.

Would you be as happy if we have fvcked it up and sat in 5th place when he is ready to return.

You really think LM will care if man u come in for him with 50/60k a week offer?      NO HE WON'T

I have a brain. Is it not all about competition for places? It's a squad game, we need the strongest squad we can get, we can't just have a first eleven and inferior players on the bench because its unfair to leave people out.

3 weeks minimum, could that turn into 8 weeks, or whatever. I'd sign Hobbs up if there was no other viable option, but I think Dawson on loan would be better.

My two pennarth worth is that Moore is better than Hobbs.

If they were all fit and all on form I would pick them is this order.

Morgan

Moore

Wasilewski

Hobbs

But...they are not always going to be on form and fit.

Wasileski has played 13 games this season, Miquel 6.  If Hobbs signed I'm sure all 3 of Morgan, Moore and Hobbs would end playing enough games to feel like part of the first team.

As others have said, Sh1tbread, Miquel  and St Ledger will all go at the end of the season.  Decent defender at a decent price
