justfoxes Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Kyle Naughton wants regular football and will leave spurs to gain it , would you welcome him back to the KP after a loan spell in 2011 a pretty handy defender ?
Stevosevic Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 If he can play on the left comfortably, then yes.
Buzzell Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I would love to see him in our colours again. He was absolutely brilliant for us and very consistent. If we do go up he would be the perfect player to replace Konchesky. A loan deal perhaps, maybe even a permanent deal wouldn't be too unrealistic.
ozleicester Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 In a flash! he was outstanding while he was here and looks definitely capable in the Prem.
RowlattsFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Watching him at weekend and wasn't impressed, turned back every time he went forward. Was great for us but not seemed to have pushed on. Think de laet deserves a chance in the prem.
LCCFox96 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Would love him back. Imo he's no better than De Laet at right back though. If he was comfortable playing left back then yes I'd drive up from London myself. Having Naughton and De Laet to play right back could be a little crowded.
One Arm Babba Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I thought I red he doesn't want to play left back. I actually had a nightmare last night. I thought assou ekoto was playing left back for us in the prem. hopefully just a bad dream and not a premonition.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 De Laet has come on leaps and bounds this season his performance and fitness levels have improved so I would stick with him at RB, we do need a LB but not sure if Naughton is the man for us for that position.
cc_star Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Much prefer RDL Naughton was great for us considering what he was replacing, but there was a considerable amount of goals conceded where he was AWOL & his inability to always get back pulled our CBs out of position. An issue I'm sure NP could sort better than Sven did, but I'm much more comfortable with RDL's ability to get back as well as be a good part of our attacks. The speed of the FB that is required these days is one of the reasons I'm hoping Schlupp plays at LB until the end of the season & through the summer. Did Naughton set the world alight at Norwich? I seem to remember lapses being highlighted on MotD on that side too Great player for us at the time, especially considering what he replaced, but we're a different level now, helped there by RDL
StanSP Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Why do people automatically think that if a player comes in they will 'replace' the current player? Next season we'll need some good depth, and IF we bring Naughton in, it'll be in competition with RDL, not to kick RDL out. To have Naughton and RDL as options for RB (and another option at LB), well, I won't be moaning at all.
Tincy Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 The reason he wants to leave is because he wants to play on the right not the left
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I thought I red he doesn't want to play left back. I actually had a nightmare last night. I thought assou ekoto was playing left back for us in the prem. hopefully just a bad dream and not a premonition. Could you imagine nige buying someone like him? No me neither
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Reckon he could be a decent back up
Bert Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Naughton was a Sven signing and whilst he was good for us, Pearson's man at right back is De Laet.
foxer Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Only as a left back and it's not his natural position so I'd say this is a no-go.
surrifox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 didn't Norwich turn down the opportunity to sign him permanently and someone else too I think - perhaps he is damaged goods
Ric Flair Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Love/d Kyle Naughton, if we signed him permanently i'd love it but i'm more than happy with De Laet right now.
Fox92 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Yeah I'd take him. He can play on both sides as well.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 In the last few years he's the only right back we've had who's been better than De Laet. For me, Sven's best signing. I would have him back in a heartbeat. I was thinking about this the other day and I can see us signing him again. Watching him at weekend and wasn't impressed, turned back every time he went forward. Was great for us but not seemed to have pushed on. Think de laet deserves a chance in the prem. That could well be manager's instructions though. He used to bomb on for us and look at how much De Laet gets forward under Pearson. He's completely capable of it.
muzzy1981 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Good player if played at RB by tend to agree RDL has had a great season.
cityfanlee23 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 De laet can play Left back comfortably.... Stick de laet on the Left, Naughton on the Right with that rocket left boot If naughton can play as well as he did in 2011 for us, He has potential to be a premierleague mid table - top half full back... Would be playing for spurs consistently if he didnt come up against walker... GET HIM BACK.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 If he signed he would be very good competition for De Laet. Not sure why people care so much about De Laet losing his place, if he loses it to a better player surely that's a good thing? If he keeps his place that is equally as good as it shows he has progressed.
MC Prussian Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Naughton was a Sven signing and whilst he was good for us, Pearson's man at right back is De Laet. No denying that. However, IF we go up, we need more players to bolster the squad and add starting spot competition. Naughton would fit that profile. Young, hungry, still bags of potential.
