A fox for life Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Shows the state of football management these days but congratulations to Nigel for becoming the longest serving manager in the Championship after the unfortunate circumstances around our old friend Chris Powell. And the 4th longest serving Manager in the top two leagues. Thank you for what you've bought to the club! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26399507
Corky Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 We'll lose tonight, now having the Longest Serving Manager in the League Award curse.
Langston Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Would've been so easy for Top et al to have given him the boot after last season's hideous slump, too; clearly they saw all the work he was carrying out behind the scenes and opted to give a young squad more time. We're being fantastically run in nigh on every single possible department you could think of right now, glorious times to be a Leicester City fan.

We're being fantastically run in nigh on every single possible department you could think of right now, glorious times to be a Leicester City fan. Indeed - easily the best since the O'Neill days. No point really, but you do wonder where we would be if that ar$ehole Mandaric had told Hull to sod off in 2010.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Really an ode to Nigel's great work. Gutted for Chris Powell though.
sylofox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 If we clap at a certain minute to celebrate his commitment to the club we may override this jinx Start on 2.5 mins till the 5th minute for his 2.5 yr contract
MC Prussian Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 It's somewhat sad to see we're celebrating a manager in charge for only 2 1/2 years. I hope he'll be around for another record to be broken (Matt Gillies' with ten years at the helm in succession).
StanSP Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Clap for Nigel in the 20th minute and 11th second for being the only current manager to have been appointed in 2011.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Why don't we all clap from the moment we arrive at the stadium until the moment the floodlights go out proving that we are the longest clapping team in the championship. This will surely get the desired effect. Actually, joking aside, how eerie do you reckon that would be for the players just looking out to a sea of tired faces clapping slower and slower non stop and then suddenly......Darkness!!!
Super_horns Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Thing is how many of those managers who have lost their job have been against the fans wishes as such... I don't think Forest, Millwall or Leeds fans were too fussed about seeing their last manager sacked. I've always thought players should take some reasonability but you cannot sack them easily...
Rincewind Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 I think there has to be a set time for a manager. Didn't someone speak out at how managers were sacked and say a minimum of a season? You cannot build a team within a few months. It takes at least a season.
Jace Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Who will be the longest at the end of the season when Pearson leaves?
Voll Blau Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Football really is in a ridiculous state with those stats.
Stadt Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 I think if Pearson had stayed all this time he wouldn't be as good as he is now. He's learnt from the disastrous run last season and his time at Hull Tigerbreads
Alexikokopops Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 How did you do that? is it with html code?Code tags let you write code so it shows to other posters rather than executing. The advantage is that it's monospaced which makes it easier to do things like tables. Code tags are like follows: Except without the spaces
theessexfox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 2 and a half years really is incredible to have that accolade... worrying times.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 .........Hull Tigerbreads I laughed far too much at this.
Tuna Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Following Chris Powell's sacking, Nigel is now the longest serving manager in the Championship, and the 14th Longest serving in the Football League.
