MGLCFC Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 The obvious choice is Wood, but I think Pearson might start with Phillips. Alternatively, let Knockaert play just behind Nugent and bring Dyer back on the wing. Or will Pearson go with GTF, as he holds the ball up well? Thoughts
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Wouldn't be a fan of starting the old man, or Kevin Phillips. Wood for me. Deserves a crack if we lose one of the front two.
kingcarr21 Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Be very surprised if he didnt go with Wood Phillips i very much doubt will start a game for us. GTF is a shout but to put him in ahead of Wood for me would show some sort of rift between Wood n Pearson
Silverdaz Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 GTF for me like he did at millwall as GTF can play in the hole you just move Nugent further up the pitch
Jace Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Wood for me 100% not had any real oppertunity this season so deserves a chance
Leicesterpool Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Chris Wood i don't think either Taylor-Fletcher or Phillips would be fit enough to play more than half an hour!
Mark_w Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Drinkwater - James Mahrez - Knockaert - Dyer Nugent and bring Wood on if it's not working.
Captain... Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Wood, or formation change, for Burnley or otherwise, if NP picks GTF or Phillips ahead of Wood, I can only assume he isn't in NP's plans any more. Formation change would be: Kasper Moore Morgan Was RDL---------------------Schlupp James--DD Mahrez-----Knocky Nugent Assuming Dyer isn't fit by then otherwise I would go for the favoured prem formation: Kasper RDL Morgan Was Schlupp James DD Mahrez Knocky Dyer Nugent
One Legged Beaver Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Wood, with the supply from Nugent and the midfield as they've been playing recently he could be very dangerous.
Silverdaz Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Be very surprised if he didnt go with Wood Phillips i very much doubt will start a game for us. GTF is a shout but to put him in ahead of Wood for me would show some sort of rift between Wood n Pearson Dont go there again Wood and NP having a rift
ealingfox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Going 4231 against Burnley would be a good shout. Mahrez Knockaert Dyer would be deadly at the moment, and we'd likely take control of the midfield.
muzzycomeback Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Kingy into the middle, I think a point against burnley all but clinches promotion.
Churchill Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I wouldn't change the formation to something we aren't used to especially in a match this big! Stay 4-4-2 and bring in Wood if things aren't going to plan then bring on GTF and push Nugent further up.
LanguedocFox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Going 4231 against Burnley would be a good shout. Mahrez Knockaert Dyer would be deadly at the moment, and we'd likely take control of the midfield. I agree with this: but would Woody be better than Nuge as the 1? I've not seen enough to know the answer.
65RosesFox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I think he'd start Wood, with Nugent doing Vardy's job of chasing everything down. I would be very surprised if he tampered with the formation that has got us to where we are now. There's no need. Stick to what we're superb at and that's 4-4-2
TheUltimateWinner Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Would be crazy to change tactics in such an important game. Either GTF in Nugents normal role of being the deep lying forward pushing Nugent up into Vardy's normally advanced position, or Wood being the advanced forward with Nugent sticking to his regular role.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I'd give first half to GTF, so how that pans out, then bring Phillips on early 2nd half. Think we'd be alright!
Devonfox1884 Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Drinkwater - James Mahrez - Knockaert - Dyer Nugent and bring Wood on if it's not working. This 100%.
Buzzell Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Wood. Keep the 4-4-2, bringing on the OAP's if Nugget and Christopher don't deliver.

I would be very surprised if he tampered with the formation that has got us to where we are now. There's no need. Stick to what we're superb at and that's 4-4-2 Yep, Would not mess with our formation at the moment.
maynefox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I would start GTF over Wood. GTF can hold the ball up better and distribute the play better than Wood.
Walshy5 Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 If Vardy doesnt get booked against Blackburn id rest him for the yeovil game. I think its vitally important he's available for burnley. No disrespect to yeovil but we should be able to beat them without his services.
foxfanazer Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Drinkwater - James Mahrez - Knockaert - Dyer Nugent and bring Wood on if it's not working. Quite like that to be fair. Would wreak havoc for their defence. Playing Wood usely brings a certain type of style that I don't feel suits us anymore. Struggle to see a future for Wood here unfortunately
