ceredigion Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We're almost there now. A point against Wigan tonight has ensured that they can't finish above us. Only 3 teams can catch us mathematically and I don't think any of them will. But even if we lose all our remaining games, I believe we will still go up. But of the chasing pack, who would you like to see promoted along with us? I think the selection is from Burnley, QPR, Derby, Wigan, Reading, Forest and maybe Ipswich. Can't see anyone further down than that making an impression on the top six. I think 2 more wins will see Burnley over the line but you never know. My take is that we want to go up with the 2 weakest clubs of the pack who are most likely to go back down. That way we only need to worry about finishing above 1 of the current Prem sides such as Norwich, WBA, Palace etc. Best result for us would be if Burnley and Reading went up. QPR and Wigan both have recent Premier League experience and money so let them stay down hopefully. Some fans might like to see Derby and or Forest go up with us so that there are some East Midland derby matches next season. It might be interesting to see if Derby could break some of the records for worst-side-ever that they set last time they were in the top flight, but personally I'll stick with Burnley and Reading. Anyone think otherwise?
ScouseFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 None of them. This should all be about a because we are the best team in this league by miles and they are all coonts
The Doctor Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnleys recent pathetic "they have more money than us, cheats waaahhhh" following our win has annoyed me, so I want derby and Brighton, so we can start on 6 points and because Brighton seem a nice club. Don't see why you want reading up on the basis that the others have recently been in the prem...
Swalker Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Derby and Burnley because I couldn't see either staying up so that's 2 of the 3 relegation spots taken already
Father Ted Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Obviously Burnley will be one of them. Via the play offs, I'm hoping either Wigan or whoever pips Forest to 6th, Ipswich would be good. QPR can continue to rot and as for Derby, can't be doing with them in the Prem.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnley, they deserve to go up with us and also I think would be more likely to struggle in the Prem than QPR or Wigan, thus giving us a better chance of staying up. Probably Derby as well for the exact same reason.
Bayfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 None of them. This should all be about a because we are the best team in this league by miles and they are all coonts This Would have gone burnley but dykes after match interview showed him for the **** he is so I'd deduct points from every team bar ipswich and brum cuz their managers know stuff. Like we is decent.
SemperEadem Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Wigan due to it be a huge away end something which is lacking at most top flight grounds.
Number 6 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Ipswich and Derby. Think we can finish above both next season and would also enable us to throw some reddies towards poor Burnley in return for Ings and Trippier.
jamfox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I like the "let the worse teams go up idea" .. Burnley because they have earnt it and don't have a lot of cash as you point out. Then Reading i can see them finishing bellow us, and i don t mind them. Fu@ck QPR and Derby
ceredigion Posted 1 April 2014 Author Posted 1 April 2014 If Derby sneaked into 2nd place and Forest went up via the play offs, I'd be gutted myself. The whole season would feel like a waste of time.
Steven Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 None of them. This should all be about a because we are the best team in this league by miles and they are all coonts Quite.
Corky Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Going off Burnley, who in protest at the major spending power of every other team won't spend a penny should they get promoted. But they can only really be caught by QPR, managed by Redknapp and his legion of lovers in the press, or Derby, for obvious reasons they are disliked, so Burnley automatically by default almost. Play-offs, I'd like to see Wigan come up as I like Rosler, or Ipswich because McCarthy has done a cracking job there in 18 months.
iamafox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnley and Wigan, was going to say Ipswich but I think they will miss out. Derby and Forest can rot in the Championship next season.
Fox in the North Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnley because of the football they have played, and.... Bournemouth to sneak into playoffs and sweep all before them, you heard it here first
Finnaldo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnley because of the football they have played, and.... Bournemouth to sneak into playoffs and sweep all before them, you heard it here first Would love that, but at 5 points behind they'll have to pick up some serious points from the last 6 and hope Reading/Forest/Ipswich drop points as well.
ceredigion Posted 1 April 2014 Author Posted 1 April 2014 A few people are saying Bournemouth or Brighton. I suppose that's because they fancy a Bank Holiday away day to the seaside. Either club in the Premier League would be hilarious and a great result for us too.
Fox Ulike Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Derby and forest. Sort of... Would much rather 4 local derbies than games against burnley or whoever.
Finnaldo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Just looked at Bournemouth's fixture list. They've got some challenging games with QPR (H), Reading (H), Ipswich (A) and Forest (A). Keep up their current form and they may well make it. Would definitely make things interesting if they were to get in the play-offs in that form.
Buggsteam Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Burnley as they've had an outstanding season as they were one of the favorites to go down. Ipswich my other choice as I was born in Suffolk and most my family still live there.
