Strokes Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 We all know what he is capable of, at 2 mil its worth the gamble I think.
KFS Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Tough one with his injury problems, but I think we should gamble. If he's spending extensive time on the sidelines by January next year then we can always loan some kid in from the top four. Freedman is being very coy, this could be a mover.
Happy Fox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Not sure 2m seems a bit steep we could use Danns as part of the deal though to get him cheaper, but if we can keep him fit and performing we could have a very good central midfielder on our hands, he is a playmaker.
RoxumJD Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 I'd love to have him back at LCFC! One of the best Centre Mids I've seen down the King Power and with our medical staff and facilities I think we could keep him fit and playing regular again. Snap him up (and flog Danns to them)!
Fox92 Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 He was quality with us, really good footwork and ability to keep the ball. Might be a bit of a gamble with his injury problems, mind.
teblin Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 With our sport science team hopefully we could get Mark Davies fit and keep him fit and he could be an awesome addition. He was better than cleverly in the short spells they both had here.
Dan Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Danns is out of contract anyway so they've nothing to gain by taking him as part of a deal. If we can keep him fit then £2mil is a steal, but it's a massive 'if'. It'd be a risky signing IMO. He was outstanding here. Probably the best loanee I can remember.
Bayfox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Brilliant on his day, made a real impact on me in that Yeovil away game, but I would worry about the injuries he's had recently and 2million seems a bit steep for a player who's had such problems, would hate to hand them back the mills money
MC Prussian Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Mark Davies is a good shout - just at the right age and our Sports Science team will surely be able to keep an eye on his injury potential and keep him fit enough - although I didn't know he was so injury prone. He can play centre midfield or as an attacking midfielder and has Premier League experience. Plus, he's still a favourite with many fans (not that this should be the main argument here ).
AKCJ Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 A lot of people are judging him on his 10 or so games in League One. With his injury record, 2m seems very steep for him. I would stay away at that price.
Unabomber Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 A midfield 3 of him James and Drinkwater would be good to see especially against the weaker teams in the prem.
davieG Posted 17 April 2014 Author Posted 17 April 2014 With a 25 man squad and no emergency loans We can't afford to risk having to carry injured players.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 It's a crappy local rag linking a Bolton player with a return to a former club
WhispyWizard Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 A lot of people are judging him on his 10 or so games in League One. With his injury record, 2m seems very steep for him. I would stay away at that price. This, League 1 made Fryatt look good.
ronnup Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Id hope we can do better, we need proven premiership performers now.
surrifox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Id hope we can do better, we need proven premiership performers now. this. plus he comes with a pretty terrible injury/ fitness record- good player but £2 mill ? - nah you're alright
Happy Fox Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Id hope we can do better, we need proven premiership performers now. He has played 86 times in the prem...
MGLCFC Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Not sure! £2mil would be a gamble, but was rated at £5mil by Wolves. Has played in the Prem and has the ability to unlock defences. No use to us if he only plays now and then. I suppose the medical would reveal anything untowards.
Mark_w Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 I'm sure Dougie would be happy to do a St. Ledger/Danns/Gallagher - Davies swap deal. I love Dougie.
