RedHux Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Miller to score first is an absolute banker. Im really starting to think that Blackpool will beat forest @nottmtails: #nffc expect to sign a striker tomorrow. Deal close to being completed. Very likely to be Britt Assombalonga. Which would be very impressive

RedHux Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 The word is we're paying through the nose for him so that kind of tallys with the recent bout of offloading.

Steve_Walsh5 Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Just saw this on Wikipedia about him lol "He is on the verge of signing for Nottingham Forest from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee which is likely to be in excess of 4 million pounds. He will sign on the 7th of August 2014 depending if he can see properly"

The Doctor Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 £5m on a league one striker when they were faced with a winding up order last week? I think only Blackpool have been more of a laughing stock this summer than Forest.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Forest always sign players that seem decent on paper, this summer will be no different. Just need to not have their annual injury crisis / boardroom meltdown combo. These can strike at any point and seem to happen every season. Even if they were eight points clear going into the last three games, the whole squad would probably get Ebola and Fawaz would appoint the ghost of Jimmy Savile as assistant manager, then they'd lose 8-3 in the play-offs to Telford Washing Machines. ScouseFox Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 antonio is just meh. people have been on about him for a year or two but he's done alright in league one and looked ok at times last year. he'll flop.

Kent Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Whoever does all the negotiating at Peterborough when selling players does an absolutely fantastic job. They've fleeced clubs for good money over the last few years for average players. I think they do tend to find/produce decent quality (championship level mostly) players and invariably sell them at some point. If they didn't have the policy of a 'selling club' then they'd probably be a fairly decent championship team I reckon.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Unbelievable fee. Peterborough definitely have the better of this deal.
Corky Posted 6 August 2014 Share Posted 6 August 2014 Peterborough have made millions on Gayle, Boyd, CMS, McLean and now Assombalonga. Maybe Barry Fry is shrewder than we give him credit for? Good to see your lot challenging Charlton's big spending though, Hux.
