Raj Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 As for the extras, the parade footage was ok, but my god how miserable and uninterested do some of our fans look! THIS!!! !!! Some look like they would rather have been shopping!!! Town hall should have been ST holders 0nly!!!!!
Fox92 Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Was fine, everything I expect these days... Commentary was a bit poor, now I hope people understand it's good when Stringer gets passionate, and quality for the Carlisle and Wycombe matches were poor imo. Other than that, pleased with it. The commentator for the Blackpool home match was so funny. He was talking as if Vardy scored (when he hit the stanchion) then when he realised "oh it's actually not gone it" People will always moan about anything, but I don't know how any Leicester City fan cannot enjoy it regardless of everything thing else. What a season!
Unabomber Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 This sounds very disappointing and more of a highlights reel than an actual season review. You would have thought that they would have put as much effort into this as possible considering it will most likely be decades until we have another season as dominant.
DennisNedry Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 My dad came home with it today (and one of those limited edition LCFC watches) and we are going to watch it tomorrow. The comments slagging it off have put me off a bit though

The comments slagging it off have put me off a bit though There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but it's literally a highlight reel of the season with a few interviews chucked in. Could have been so much better than it is.

Guest Electric Yetis Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 They need to watch the 91/92 season review to learn how to do it. Not gonna get upset about a season review when we've had such a great season but like others have said, it could have been so much more.
MGLCFC Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Didn't really know what to expect, however it's a decent memento of one of our most successful season and for £10 it's ok. But like many have said, it's just edited highlights from all of the games with average commentary - would have liked to have seen a few of Wasilewski's challenges, Vaughan's sending off, even a bit of the tunnel cam stuff plus some of the after match interview's from key games and clips from national coverage on sky (Jeff Stelling when we were promoted was superb). I did enjoy watching it this afternoon and it makes me smile when they crowd at the Town Hall are signing are you watching Nottingham and it looks like Wes might have joined in with the line once?
Bert Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 What more can people expect for £10? Although, saying that a bit of a voice over at the end of each month wouldn't have hurt.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 As Bert said, a tenner for 150 ish goals plus 30 mins from the promotion parade and interviews isn't too shabby. If they'd outsourced production to a massive and expensive company and it cost double or more then people would complain at the cost. It's not like our fans to find things to moan about........ PS I haven't seen the DVD yet but hopefully will this week.
ealingfox Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 The 90s ones nailed it. Bit of preseason stuff as an introduction, voiceover between games giving a bit of context, the table as it looked at the end of each month, interviews, perfect amount of highlights per game etc
Jace Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 I heard the club were so disappointed with this when they watched it that they were going to try and hide the copies in the store in hope noone would find it, they considered giving them away for free like the other season but felt they were still too crap to give away unfortunately it sounds like several people have found them.

copunk Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 I was expecting a little more tbh, more interviews, bit of build up to certain games, other then that for a tenner its not too bad, not brilliant either, but worth getting as its been such an amazing season
RowlattsFox Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Watched half of it this morning and like most slightly disappointed but probably down to expectations being high. It's good to see all the goals, forgot that some of the first few games were this season, they feel years ago. Would be nice to have more than just goals though. Maybe post match interviews, and some of the build up. Would have been nice to have an insight into the squad off the pitch. Should they film for a DVD throughout the season? Decent enough though, will probably be a better watch in 5 years time though when I'm looking back.
VLC86 Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 The options in the clubs eyes.... 1) rush it out while people are still buzzing meaning they don't spend much on it and charge a reasonable £10. Result- get moaned at. 2) the DVD has plenty of time in production, costs £20 released in late July. Result- get moaned at. Let's be honest, people were going to moan regardless. Yes the quality is a bit shit, yes they could have beefed it out with more interviews and yes they could have used radio Leicesters commentary but it would have cost more than a bloody tenner!
sdb Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 It's fine - could've been better (slip in some interviews, discussion, a broader narrative) but it does the job.

They've had a month since the end of the season and more importantly, they have all the footage. They have the highlights, interviews and tunnel cams etc, it's not as if they need to do a load of filming. I haven't seen it myself yet but it sounds like a very basic film of the highlights and not much else, when they had the opportunity to make a fantastic season review of one of the greatest seasons in the club's history.

Just showing the highlights takes up a lot of time, I don't really want a three disk box set that takes 50 hours to watch with full in depth interviews from Filbert The Fox and Lee Jobber. It just needs to remind you of the best moments from the season. It's better than any of the other season reviews, and if you want to watch in depth highlights, interviews and tunnel cam, then you can sign up for Foxes Player. Season Reviews aren't really about doing anything more than showing highlights from every game, none of the end of season reviews I've bought have been particularly different or better than this one.

Well done in taking my point and extending it to ridiculous lengths. A few key interviews here and there by Nigel and the players is a good thing and would add to the DVD.
sdb Posted 7 June 2014 Posted 7 June 2014 Pretty decent all in all, not a lot to moan about really. We'd be mad to let Nugent leave this summer and we'd also be mad not to spend a lot of time practicing set pieces. Almost all the goals we conceded came from out wide and mostly set plays.
ealingfox Posted 8 June 2014 Posted 8 June 2014 Not really buying this 'good for a tenner' argument. Hollywood films and professional top-level documentaries cost a tenner when they come out on DVD, and the price of the DVD isn't dictated by the budget of the production. Considering LCFC already had 90% of the footage for the DVD, its not asking a lot to put a bit of thought into the production and the rest of the footage.

I can't possibly imagine why you are disappointed
