Manwell Pablo Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Could of done with at least one of the more winnable games near the start of the season..... ah well, welcome back to the Premier League I guess.
Unabomber Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 #2 I provide Bert with his info, looks like I have finally been rumbled.
sylofox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Could of done with at least one of the more winnable games near the start of the season..... ah well, welcome back to the Premier League I guess. personally think we will pick up some points from our start. All the big boys will have disrupted pre season with the amount of players in Brazil. Plus most of there targets will be in Brazil so will not be about for the start of pre season. Our 2 players will be back early so less disruption to pre season.
flintshirefox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I was hoping for an easier start than that so that we could get some points on the board. But we have to play everyone at some point sp perhaps it's good to face them when we're full of confidence from last season? At least we might not be last on Match of the day ;-)
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Everton is a brilliant first game back in the big time! Proper football team with some proper fans so that should (SHOULD) command an atmosphere! Don't expect much from the pre season but i think they'll give us a real test and I personally won't mind if we don't win that game, I'm not expecting to win it so if we do manage to pick anything up it will be a bonus. Any of those first 6 games are bonus points really, we can't expect much from the start of the season given how the fixtures have panned out. Everyone going on about the winnable run in..wouldn't it just be Leicester to pick up 12 points from the first 6 games and 3 or 4 points from that "easy" run in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LeicesterBran Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Our first six matches of the next season are gonna be really tough. I see us getting 4 points out of the first six. I Will go to the first two home games.
smudger63 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 To be honest, i can only see us getting 12 points from the first five games, i think we might lose away at Stoke.
Matt Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 It's a tough start but you've gotta play the teams sometime and I am kinda justifying it (If that's the right phrase to use) by saying i'd rather start with tough games, get them out the way earlier rather than later, what gives me abit of confidence is that I reckon the majority of the last 8 games are winnable, they be tough like any other game and I don't wanna be going into them cocky or anything but I honestly think should we be in any danger which we probably will be we have chance to get out of danger. It's finally sunk in though and it seems alot tougher after seeing the fixtures today! I'm very pissed off Arsenal away is on a Tuesday night and Liverpool is on NYD. Two of the games I really wanted to go to pretty much out of the question already, fuming.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I didn't notice man city away on a midweek as well.
Matt Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I didn't notice man city away on a midweek as well. £50 - £60+ for a midweek game to Man City? No thanks. TBH Man City away doesn't appeal to me anyway for some reason even if it was on a Saturday, it isn't really a place I desire to go to, weird considering they are Champions. Also another thing I meant to mention in my post was Everton is an ideal first game I reckon, not a small club, something to get excited about whilst they aren't a 'huge' club/team, and it is dare I say it drawable/winnable, it'll be tough, but it something I keep saying and all the games will be tough, but I reckon it's a steady game to start with, it's the games that follow that worry me.
ealingfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 That old adage 'there are no easy games in the Championship' really is a load of bollocks.
Happy Fox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 That old adage 'there are no easy games in the Championship' really is a load of bollocks. There is easier opposition to negotiate in the championship on paper but the game is never won on paper as well all know! I guess the Top 7 in the prem would be viewing us as an easy 3 points alongside Burnley and QPR. However, the rest of the teams won't because they will be competing with us to retain our status in the prem.
Singha Beer Is Good! Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 good fixtures IMO. Its important to get some of the big teams out the way at the start as anything can happen in the first few games which is what we see year in year out. Last 7 or so fixtures are very good if we are scrapping for points to stay up I agree...think it's best to play the top teams early on when they are getting their new players to settle in. I just hope that IF we end up with few points from the opening six fixtures, everyone and especially the board sees the bigger picture and doesn't panic and put Pearson under pressure. The last thing we need is a knee-jerk sacking and some 'name' coach taking over! As for the run-in, hopefully we'll be safe by then but if we need the points, we are playing sides we should be beating if we have ambitions of establishing ourselves as a proper Premiership team. Cant' wait!!!!!!!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 It might be a blessing to play the top sides early in the hope we can almost catch them a bit under done and before they have figured our our game. Hopefully if we aren't too deep in the relegation zone we have plenty of winable games late.
Happy Fox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Please note, fixtures are subject to change to broadcast selection, while supporters should note matches can be pushed back a day due to opponents’ potential commitments in European competition. Any changes will be confirmed on our website when finalised. The first batch of matches selected for television purposes, covering the August-November period, are due to be made on June 21. MC Prussian Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson relishing tough start to Premier League campaign By Leicester Mercury | Posted: June 19, 2014 In their opening five fixtures, City take on four of the sides expected to be challenging for the title and Champions League qualification. Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson said his side are relishing their tough start to their first Premier League campaign in 10 years. Pearson's champions kick off at home to Everton, who finished fifth last season, on Saturday, August 16, before heading to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday, August 23. Arsenal are then the visitors to the King Power Stadium on Saturday, August 30, before City head to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke. There is no let-up for City as they then entertain Louis van Gaal's Manchester United on Saturday, September 20, to cap a difficult first five fixtures. It is a twist of irony for City that their opening game is against the Toffees, who they also face in a prestigious pre-season friendly in Thailand. "The day the fixtures come out is always an exciting one for supporters as it starts the countdown to the new season," said Pearson. "It's a bit special this year as we'll be back in the Premier League after a long absence, and there are a lot of attractive fixtures for fans to look forward to. "Starting against Everton is going to be a big challenge. They had a very good season, have a manager who has made a big impact since joining them and a squad with some very good players. "But every game at this level will be a big test and we will have to make sure we're ready by preparing as well as we possibly can. "Pre-season is always an important time as it gives your players a base from which to work ahead of a long season. "Stepping up a division makes this one as important as ever, so when we return we'll be fully focused on being ready for Everton on the opening weekend and every challenge beyond that." Four of City's last six games are at home, to Swansea, Newcastle, Southampton and, on the final day, QPR. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-boss-Nigel-Pearson-relishing-tough/story-21261219-detail/story.html

StanSP Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 When do we know if Sky are moving the opening game? 21st June.
crisp monster Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 A few years back we had a very similar start - Villa @ home 1-0 win Liverpool away 2-1 win Man Utd home 0-O draw Arsenal home 3-3 draw - remember that one?????:-) Then we played Sheff Wed away on a Monday night, who were right down the bottom and lost 1-0. Approach the opening games in the right manner and see where it takes us. If we're scared of these teams, we may have well not bothered going up in the first place - have faith people!!!
