Bert Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Just a week away. Can't wait! Who does everyone think we'll get, who do you want on the opening day/weekend of the season and name one fixture you'd hate first up. Think - Liverpool at home. Want - Villa away. Avoid - Man City away It's quite common for newly promoted teams to get a bigger side on the opening day of the season. I actually fancy that we'll be at home even though I'd prefer not to be. Be a great atmosphere too. Would love Villa away because it's a great away day, at a great localish ground and we've a great chance of winning there first up. Man City away is the nightmare scenario. Likely to be moved for tv, expensive and we will not win there - a game that'll proper burst our bubble.
kingcarr21 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 think weve had a similar thread but i really want man city away first game. Go there and put on a masterclass performance to tell the rest of the Prem WE'RE BACK
Fox92 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Can't wait either! Just want a "safe" team at home. Not a team that will hammer us and not a team that got promoted alongside us. A team like Stoke, Villa, West Brom at home to give us at least a chance of winning the first game. Last thing we want is a hammering by City or Liverpool! Got a feeling it will be Southampton again though
Brooksy Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Want Villa at home as it gives it a good chance to get off to a winning start. I reckon we'll get Man United away though.
CosbehFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Normally the promoted sides get the top 4 as the television loves a good pasting. I'd like to see us get Villa away. Ideal.
HEGGSY Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Home game first please. My 19th the week after so hoping for a birthday away day
Tom's Pasta Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 We'll get Sunderland away first game. I'd prefer to have a home game against an Everton or someone similar (a game we're expected to lose but with a chance of us causing an upset) Really don't want united away first game because we'll get the backlash from their terrible season last time out.
AKCJ Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 So are we turning this into some sort of sweepstake? Ill go with Swansea away.

ScouseFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Want - home 3pm kick off Avoid - away, Monday night football
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 I would like either Man U, Spurs or Newcastle. Dont mind home or away but on TV just so I can have some banter for a few weeks before we kick off with people at work.
ozleicester Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Can we just have some big away games over xmas Sunderland or west brom away first please
Manny2802 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 I have a strong feeling it will be Villa away and I am hoping so as its local to me plus giving us a chance to get 3 points and then abuse all the Villa fans local to me which is a lot
lgfualol Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Ah shit, I thought they were realised on Friday. Hoping for a team that has a lower possibility of thrashing us. So, West brom at home.
Houdini Logic Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Why does everyone want a shit team?? Start as you mean to go on. My sweepstake is going to be Arsenal at home (if not taken)
goose2010 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Stoke Home just had a feeling it will be. When is the first game? as i have a horrible feeling i'm at a wedding
Brooksy Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 16th August. Will probably be the 17th or 18th for us though.
TrentFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Big team away please. Probably have more chance of getting something there first up than in mid-season.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Think - has no basis to it (nor can it considering the fixtures are largely randomly generated) but since I don't want it to happen it'll no doubt be Chelsea away. Want - Liverpool away. Missed the trips to Anfield in the 90s so a new ground for me, and I lived up there for three years so got a lot of mates there. Avoid - An unattractive away like Chelsea.
sylofox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Man U away before they and Van Gall get time to settle and get a head of steam up. If not any of last seasons top 5 for the same reason
