Brooksy Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 It's finally sunk in that we're a prem club. Can't wait now, testing start but hopefully we can surprise a few, hopefully Chelsea and that dickhead Mourinho.
Bert Posted 18 June 2014 Author Posted 18 June 2014 I imagine Bert gets his info from Stringer as they seem pretty close. With Stringer in a privileged position within BBC local radio he would sometimes get some advanced knowledge which he may pass onto Bert.Sadly you are wrong. If you would like the screenshot of me telling Stringer via whatsapp what game we had first you're welcome to it.
chapero82 Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Screen Shot 2014-06-18 at 13.19.32.png Says it all really Cant tell if he's checking out the fixtures or the lady getting rubbed down! Haha a bit of both kmao
BrummieFOX Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Nuge should be happy with the opening fixture (if he's here). He's Everton isn't he? Boxing Day at home to Spurs is a great fixture.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Very difficult start which on the face of it doesn't look ideal, but could be a blessing and if we can have 5+ points from the first 5 games I'd be happy. Really tough run in February but what stands out to me is that you couldn't of really asked for a kinder run in, so If we are in a scrap I'd really fancy us to do what we needed to.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 The end run will depend on how the owners, players and fans react if we have a horrible start. Let's hope the manager and the players at least wont be down hearted or demoralised if we do. Surviving in this League is as much about mental strength in the face of adversity and seemingly impossible odds as it is to do with football skills. Don't worry, I will again be firmly in place as the fans favourite talisman of positivity & optimism. #weregonnawintheleague #carefree

BrummieFOX Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 He seemed happy enough on twitter! Ha, yea thought he might be.
demon_dog Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 It makes our pre season friendly out in Thailand more interesting. Get knocky to introduce their players to the ladyboys and photograph them. Now who's gonna win the first match of the season?
Happy Fox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 The way I see it is the Top 7 teams I don't expect us to get results but if we do it is a bonus i.e the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. The rest of the teams I expect us to pick up wins and draws. Therefore if we look at the fixtures First 6 games we have 4 in the Top 7 category and 2 who are not i.e Palace and Stoke who I expect us to beat therefore 6 points minimum should be the return. My calculations Would be 14 defeats 12 wins and 12 draws So 48 points in total.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 The problem in this league is that when we have winnable games, teams will be looking at us and thinking the same thing.
Happy Fox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 The premier league have already started the pre match thread we don't need to bother anymore http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/matches/2014-2015/epl.html/leicester-vs-everton
fuchsntf Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Sorry forgot already,...the great thread from last season, which slowly showed teams that would end below city. and points needed to overtake. If that same guy could do the same, but from a relegation-position handle, and citys hovering position. Ive changed my set up, so I couldnt chase you directly, lost the history posts at the moment. But it would be a great post idea which every fan can follow..

Recall Bent having one ruled out for literally nothing, Rooney's goal was good though. I can't wait now. It's a decent start really. Not the easiest game, but Everton are a proper top flight club with a great history and great following.

I know we were poor that season, but it is amazing we sneaked a draw with such little possession...
foxfanazer Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 As good a first game as we could've hoped for imo. Yeah it's a tough first 5 or so games but every game is difficult and this is what we've been waiting for! Hope NP gets a fair crack at it
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Rather a tough start than a tough finish, I think. Just hope we give a good account of ourselves for the majority so we aren't heading into the season on a complete downer, sounds retarded but I'm not too bothered about the points haul from those first five.
Ron Combo Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 On the BBC sport home page there is a revolving series of photos (Man City etc) heading up the fixture announcement. For some reason (London-centric?) there is a photo of qpr holding up a trophy. No Leicester of course.
Father Ted Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Excellent set of fixtures. Play the big guns at the start when we are full of confidence and have no fear, then a beautiful run in after City away. I like.
Bramhall Fox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Last time we played Everton at home in the first game, they were defending league champions and had just taken Gary Lineker off us - we won 3-1! A repeat of that would be fantastic. So excited about the fixture list - reality hits home now.
kingfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 I bet it isn't the first time you have cried while ejaculating, I would expect the old wank 'n' cry into a sweaty grey gym sock is pretty much a standard Saturday night in for you. A sock get out, I do it into a cup.
