New Fixtures - Everton @ home 1st game.

Delighted the first game is against Everton at home and yes, ok, we have a tough start but we - more than most fans - know nothing was won or lost after just a few matches. Our aim is to stay up next May and with that run in when things are getting backs to the wall time, I think we will be ok.

Swings and roundabouts when you look it it.

Incredibly tough start, no doubt about it.

And come end mid/end of March we may be quite far down points-wise after the immensely difficult run there. But then again, we may still be in with a shout at that time ready for a very, very decent run-in - the final 8 games we will no doubt be playing against sides around us and I'd be confident of picking up a solid amount of points there.

We have to be thankful for that final 8. That'll be crunch-time and we can at least recover from any bad results we have beforehand. Just be glad it's not like Norwich's run in just gone. I'd rather have it our way! Potentially get something out of games at the start!

I am actually very pleased with our fixtures you wouldn't want to play any of the top 4 come May as Norwich found out, we will stay before May imo.

I think as most have pointed out, the run in is the key to next season, and as others have said, you never know early doors, we may spring the odd shock result at a big team.

Hopefully the owners will share Nige's view that the fixtures are out of our control and that the season should be judged over the course of 38 games not a few in isolation. Otherwise we could have an early wobble and they might get itchy.

I'm sure we'll go through rough patches with little points, but I'd more confident of surviving if we kept together the manager and spirit of last season, with them calmly picking up points. If we try to change it, the disruption could result in relegation a la Cardiff.

Look at hull last season, they finished 16th they only won 10 games, and they had at least 3 bad patches:

From fixture 7 to 12, 1 win

14- 18,  2 losses, 3 draws

They also lost 9 out of their last 13 games.

Let's not panic folks!

what are the chances of getting a ticket for the first game if you're not a season ticket holder or member, percentage or ratio is fine.

I think I predicted Everton at home months ago, it's been a right effort trying to keep it a secret.

That run-in is sweet, but to be honest Sunderland had a hellish run-in and escaped and i'm sure Fulham's was relatively easy on paper and went down.

In the end it's about how good we are as a unit, not the opposition we face.

I fancy us to get 4 points from the first 3 games, that'll be alright.

Liverpool away on NYD is a sweet one but i'm gutted I miss the home game vs them as i'll be in South Africa then. I hope that get's moved back!!

Surely the opener gets moved to a Sunday?

Can imagine first 3 games will get moved for Sky, be it Saturday afternoon/evenings or Sunday.

Shit just got real.

Hopefully we can catch a couple of the "big boys" cold after the World Cup, a bad start was always possible, and a bad start against Everton Chelsea and Arsenal is understandable, a bad start against Burnley, QPR and Hull wouldn't be.
