Corky Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Muller's reaction was pathetic but Pepe was so pointless putting his head in there. Call him a prat or whatever and get on with the game. Don't make the ref consider a decision.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Can you be sent off for intent with a head butt? I.e just moving your head towards another player Yes, stops any grey areas... if your head moves towards another players then you will get a red regardless of any kind of contact. Basically you shouldn't be doing that.
Kitchandro Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 He's stooped 4 foot to head but him. Of course it's a red. If that's what you call a headbutt maybe someone needs to demonstrate what a headbutt actually is on you. He touched his head lightly. This is the problem when you get despicable 'sports' 'men' like Thomas Muller playing football. A match is ruined and he receives no retribution for diving, trying to get a man sent off and devaluing the sport. Muller even squared up to Pepe in the end and yet Pepe is sent off for doing the same thing minus rolling around like a little girl. I don't feel sorry for Pepe of course, he's no better if past events are anything to go by. But Portugal have been stitched up by a cheat and a stupid referee who lacked common sense.
DennisNedry Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 I find it absolutely farcical that what Pepe did is deemed as 'violent' and a red card offence, whereas what Muller did is seen as 'part of the game'. Pepe has the right to be furious at such blatant cheating from that sausage sucking hun.

People have become such apologists to these people who disgrace the sport just because they're great players and 'everyone does it'. 'Oh don't be nasty to those lovely Germans, they will just do anything to win, they are winners. Pepe is the only one at fault for falling for it.' Any Englishman that does that sort of thing should be sent home.
lgfualol Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Muller looked like he was on the end of a Nigel headbutt, not a flailing fingertip. Pepe is a bit of a **** though.

Haydos Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Pepe is a fvcking neanderthal moron as per but something really needs to be done about shit like this. That shouldn't be a sending off and Muller needs to be punished for being a ****. The laws as they are now are stupid.
Nick Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Incidents of simulation, misconduct and violence should be able to be reviewed at this level by a TV ref.
kingfox Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Oh well, Pepe has always been a bellend, regardless if it was a red or not, whenever he get's sent off it's funny. Hope Germany smash them 7-0.
StanSP Posted 16 June 2014 Author Posted 16 June 2014 Muller's reaction to the headbutt or the flailing arm doesn't matter here. The fact he's leant down to (lightly, yes) headbutt Muller is reason enough to send him off. I bet every single player who plays against Pepe is told by their boss to try and get Pepe in to trouble. Rattle him. It's simple. Once he's rattled, he lashes out. He can't control himself and his anger.
Kitchandro Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 I've always hated Vieira. What a horrible, girly little french bitch he is. Why are we, the English, letting a Frenchman, tell us, the English, what's part of football, the game we invented? It's a shambles and a stain on the sport that you cannot be punished for actions like Muller's.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Just hoping now that Müller scores no more goals so that twat can't win the Golden Boot again. Bellend.

Does that very tiny little touch with the head make the difference. That wouldn't have hurt a new born baby. An ant would have survived it. That is not violent conduct. A sensible ref might have booked him and told him to calm down.
One Legged Beaver Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 This German team are by far the most dislikeable team of the tournament so far, just about all of them are falling to the ground at the lightest contact.
Tielemans63 Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Ronaldo is clearly not 100% fit - lets hope Suarez puts in a similar performance on Thursday.

He stooped down and head butted him. It's a red card. No matter how soft it is, it's the rules of the game. Nobody has stitched them up. They're down to 10 because Pepe is a Ming who can't help himself. The referee has followed the rules and IMO he's got everything right so far. Muller didn't dive, he feigned injury. There's a difference. A dive is a yellow card, faking injury isn't and that is where the rules need to be changed.
leicsmac Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 This German team are by far the most dislikeable team of the tournament so far, just about all of them are falling to the ground at the lightest contact. Totally agree. But do Portugal elicit sympathy for getting a taste of their own medicine?
Guest ttfn Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Of all the things David Moyes did at Manchester United, giving Nani a 5 year contract was the most ridiculous.
