They haven't been 'strongly disciplined' until they've faced a Nigel Pearson head butt.
MikeyT Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 His current club being awkward over fee! Very frustrating! What fees are we talking here? Is there much difference in each clubs valuation?

Sounds like they now want rid of the two players though. Slimani will be ours pretty soon.
JJS84 Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I think a lot of clubs like to do it this way, make it look like they are getting rid of players because they are bad apples, makes it an easier sell to the fans, rather than admitting they are a selling club and don't want to turn down the best part of £30 million for 2 players. I think the same thing happened with that midfielder man utd got from Bilbao, they disciplined him just before he left, guillem balague said the club play that game to make them look less money orientated.

On the flip side, surely that devalues the player involved and therefore doesn't benefit the selling club?
lgfualol Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I read some Sporting fan says Slimani really wants to come here

JJS84 Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 On the flip side, surely that devalues the player involved and therefore doesn't benefit the selling club? that is very true, I think in Bilbao's case, as with all Spanish clubs, the midfielder had a minimum release clause so it didn't affect the cost.
artursteppe Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Telegraph article says " ( Sporting Lisbon President ) Bruno de Carvalho said Rojo ( Man Utd bound? ) and Slimani ( Leicester bound? ), in defense of our magnificent group must be removed. They are subject to strong disciplinary measures, and will not play against Acadamia on Saturday. ( Sporting's first match of the new season ). - So who knows?

sphericalfox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Slimani may well want to come here, but Terry plays hard ball. He's probably spread the fee over 30 years, and Sporting want an all cash upfront deal and he's not having it.
65RosesFox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I read some Sporting fan says Slimani really wants to come here It wasn't a m8 on facebook was it?
PWII Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 What fees are we talking here? Is there much difference in each clubs valuation? Sporting valuing him more than what we are prepared to pay. We are trying to bring the price down, story of the player being disciplined could work to our advantage here. Especially if player now decides he definitely wants to leave.
Banks Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Is Slimani really worth signing? Scored 8 last season, I recall Ricky Van Wolswinkel tearing up the Portuguese League at Sporting and we all know what happened when he joined Norwich...
dayday Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Is Slimani really worth signing? Scored 8 last season, I recall Ricky Van Wolswinkel tearing up the Portuguese League at Sporting and we all know what happened when he joined Norwich... Chris Hughton was one of the guests on goals on Sunday,he was adamant Ricky Van Wolswinkel would have been a much better player this season,as last he struggled to settle in plus got injured.

jayfox26 Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 http://www.soccernews.com/leicester-new-bid-slimani/152470/ not sure Slimani would be our marquee signing. I think that will be Cambiasso if he ever signs!
Babylon Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Slimani will end up at West Ham, Deeney at Hull and we'll be left holding out dicks wondering how we missed out. Stop fecking about, if you want the bloke go and sodding get him.
