Marmite Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 Slimani will end up at West Ham, Deeney at Hull and we'll be left holding out dicks wondering how we missed out. Stop fecking about, if you want the bloke go and sodding get him. Could not of worded it better myself.
Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 He's loads better than Deeney, where was he this summer in Brazil? Couldn't get anywhere near the Algerian squad but Slimani did.

Hack Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 From ESPN FC 13.20 BST: Leicester City are willing to offer Islam Slimani 900,000 euros per year, triple his current wages at Sporting Lisbon, as well as offer 8 million pounds to sign him. O Jogo say the newly-promoted Foxes are desperate to land the Algerian, hence the huge financial packet available.

And that is 3 times his current wage, no wonders he wants a move here.
The Doctor Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 Because he plays for Sporting and not Watford? How many times have you watched him play? Or because he looked good at the world cup and made the starting line up of a much better nation than the one deeney got nowhere near

I made it closer to £14k! assuming that the salary is really quoted in euro and the transfer fee in sterling which in itself is a bit odd

RoboFox Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 Didn't Pearson say something along the lines of: "It is pretty cold, that one. In terms of hot or cold that one is freezing." Usually he doesn't outright dismiss speculation if there's something in it...
surrifox Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 I just divided 900,000 by 52 =17300 euros divided by 1.22= £14,100 quid divided by 3 = £4700 quid a week (as you say - no wonder he wants out )

65RosesFox Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 Or because he looked good at the world cup and made the starting line up of a much better nation than the one deeney got nowhere near Yes they were a better nation than England at the world cup but do you honestly think any of the algerian players would get into the England squad? Both would be good additions, but you can't base a player because he was at the world cup and one wasn't. Otherwise we should've gone for Shola Ameobi..... artursteppe Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 Now offered £6M, I think their asking price was €8M, (about the same),so in theory this should happen if the Mirror is accurate.

st albans fox Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 we could be using this to force deeney and watford's hand ? however, now hull have the money and a space, that strategy is buggered !
ATLFox Posted 14 August 2014 Share Posted 14 August 2014 (roughly) £14,000 p/w is peanuts for a Premier League striker, who also played in the World Cup. I can guarantee Deeney would be demanding way over £20k a week. Slimani would be a great fit, already has a relationship with Mahrez so the settling in process wouldn't take long. I don't think Deeney would be the most popular among some of our players...
