Slimani

Recommended Posts

Pearson said this was stone cold and Slimani's agent is fishing for a deal by phoning the media... Pearson won't bite.

Of all the clubs in European football, his agent chooses to go fishing with a newly promoted club who aren't fashionable, whose manager doesn't openly discuss transfers in the media and a Director of Football who's as stingy as a Yorkshireman in a pub. Makes sense...

£180m

QPR are a much better choice for an agent to stir up interest. Based in London, they essentially have 1 striker (not definite Remy is gonna stay and Zamora is clearly squad filler), manager that is known for splurging in the transfer market etc. If you are trying to stir up interest in your player, Leicester City are pretty low on the list for a foreign agent. People need to grasp that now we are in the Premier League agents are less likely to chuck our names in the hat on random speculation than when we were a top Championship side. We are minnows now and the only players we have been linked with this transfer window are players we have actual interest in.

Also the £180m was a misquote by journalists and has been refuted by everyone from Top to Nigel.

I know that, but it doesn't mean others do, that story went around Europe. People take notice of that kind of stuff.  The correction probably got a line in the Merc.

It's either good or not for us. Price makes no difference.

I think you're right. If a type and quality of player is needed, then we have to pay the going rate. Just because a player costs 8 million doesn't mean he will be 8 times better or contribute 8 times more than a 1 million player.
