Kris Commons..

A non-starter. Clearly Champions League footy means a lot to him, just a matter of when he'll sign a new contract really. Considering he's playing at the equivalent of our League 1, he should be flattered by our 'interest'.

We're interested in him? Pretty sure they've just taken that from that dodgy sportsmole website which was just saying 'these are players I think would be good for Leicester'...

Posted

They're entitled to him, he knows he wouldn't cope in the Prem. Look at Gary Hooper...

On the other hand, look at Charlie Adam, Nikica Jelavic and Carlos Cuellar. Not every player in Scotland doesn't perform in the Premier League.

If Commons wants to stay then move on (if ever this rumour was true anyway). He's going to win the league again, play in Europe and be favourites for the domestic trophies.

I really don't understand this constant knocking of almost every player that the press have us interested in . Gee we have some knobs as fans. Firstly it is the press, secondly we are talking about Celtic's player of the year who plays champions league and he isn't good enough for us. Please turn it you morons.

Couldn't think of anything worse than an ex Forest, Derby and Celtic player playing for us!

Commons is not some unknown coming down from Scotland though, we have seen quite alot of him over the years.

He has spent the majority of his career playing in the english championship, and being an ok championship player.

Certainly not premier quality in my opinion.

The football manager generation.

He could've completed the hat-trick- playing in League One with Forest, Championship with Derby and Premier League with Leicester.

But no, he'd rather stay at Celtic. Bottler.

im sorry but a club that plays champs league by default being a one a horse race in that league every season the only competition they had in that league was rangers and they made sure they had them relegated to lowest division possible , its a nothing league full of league 1 league 2 players at best , if they put the scottish leagues and english leagues together champtionship clubs at best no better than what we have

What do people base there logic on here on? bet most of you haven't even seen him play a game in Celtic shirt! he scored 32 goal's and ok where I do agree the scottish league isn't the strongest, I have seen him play enough games to know the guy has ability. Not sure what truth is in this story anyway we will have to wait and see if there is a bid on the table?

They must keep getting lucky in the champs league & Europe:

Beat Ajax last season, Barcelona and Spartak Moscow season before, plus numerous other clubs from smaller nations. Drawing against Benfica, Rennes, Udinese.

The standard might not be great, but it's not in many European nations outside the top half a dozen teams in each league. You shouldn't automatically rule people out because of the league they are currently in.

I thought the signing of Vardy might have stopped all that shit.

I am sorry. Celtic might not be an Man U, PSG or even a Napoli but they would be a team that could compete with most teams in the PL. Champion League football and the near guarantee European football is a great pull for good quality players. It is completely naive to suggest that Cetic are not a good team or their players of a poor quality.

It makes you wonder if Champions League is all that to someone like him now. Ledley and Hooper joined bottom end Premier League teams. Celtic might get a double-header with Barcelona every other year, or it could be United. Playing in the Premier League means the player could play against United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool etc.

Fair play to him though.

The chances are he's had no decision to make, there has been no offer and it's all a load of shit.... if there had been one I'd wager he's be off in a heartbeat.
