Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 I've never been Wood's biggest fan. But I now have the utmost respect for him. Wanting to stay and fight for his place is refreshing in this day of many footballers being complete money-grabbing bar stewards. Good on you Chris.. I now hope this talk of Deeney can finish and Wood get the chance I believe he's earnt.
TrentFox Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 Even though, allegedly, he turned Wolves down as they weren't offering enough dosh ?? Welcome back.
JJS84 Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 Even though, allegedly, he turned Wolves down as they weren't offering enough dosh ?? Welcome back. That's what I heard, around 30% less.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2014 Posted 21 August 2014 Even though, allegedly, he turned Wolves down as they weren't offering enough dosh ?? Welcome back. Cheers Trent. And I didn't know that. My point remains however. He could have gone to Wolves, probably earnt a similarish wage to being at City? Played as one of their main strikers, but chose to stay at a Prem side and compete. I like that. If, of course, it was solely about money, I take it back...
Happy Fox Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Follow Stuart Watson@Stuart_Watson Understand #itfc could look to #lcfc's Chris Wood if McGoldrick fee is reached. Would be done as separate deal rather than part of swap
Guest Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 For 8 million quid they can have him. After all he's got premier league experience
Banks Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 You can have him for 8m, he's better than McGoldrick.
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Lets see what The Sun print first. Then we can all quote their price as though it's true.
Thracian Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Can't see Wood getting much action here although I'm still not sure how good he is. Others seem to have specific strengths which almost demand a place in the team or as a first choice sub. Wood remains a bit nebulous apart from his ability to plunder a goal every so often and Pearson, quite rightly, needs more from his strikeforce than that. We really do have to defend from the front while we establish ourselves and people like Vardy and Nugent do that whether they're scoring or not. Ulloa is just such a big bonus, not just with his ability to score but also in defending set pieces at the other end. Wood's good but just doesn't seem to have a roll he'd get chosen for very often.
foxfanazer Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Would rather keep him than sign Mcgoldrick
J.Lisemore Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Wood is a better player than McGoldrick. they want £8M for him? we'll have £10M for Wood then. Cheers.
DennisNedry Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 We need to keep Wood. If one of our current 3 best strikers (Ulloa, Vardy, Nugent) get injured we're suddenly looking light up front again.
lcfc matt Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Ssn just said palace very interested but can't agree on the fee that Leicester want for him.
Austin Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Ssn just said palace very interested but can't agree on the fee that Leicester want for him. We'll be judging it on what ipshit want for mcgoldrick and therefore will want 10mill minimum!
mozartfox Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 We'll be judging it on what ipshit want for mcgoldrick and therefore will want 10mill minimum! Spot on ! - 7M for MacArthur (27) - 8M for McGoldprick (26) - 10M for Deeney (26) = 10M Wood (22). Do people think we are seen as Mugs by most Clubs?

crazylegs1984 Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 palace have put a bid in for wood i say we go for defoe he wants premiership football and would love to see him here

cjslcfc Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 bid gone in say sky. dunno how much or what our stance on it is. great info. I'd assume that this would be more likely to happen than the move to Wolves. Wood stated his massive desire to stay in the Premier League after all.
Stevosevic Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 If he's off, someone coming in for sure. Please be Defoe.
