General Smuts Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 Wouldn't be surprised of Wood was to go out on loan. Am I right in saying we can still get loans in from abroad? And can still loan out to the lower leagues?
MC Prussian Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 Up until then it's the funny old news headline: "Leicester still have Wood" (You may now shoot me)
lgfualol Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 Dont mind him going on loan. Maybe to a club that will pay his wages and then some.
fuchsntf Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 Whats with this number4 or number 5 forward. For arguments and logical sake...If Ulloa, Vardy, Nugent, are our starters...then 1 gets injured, forgetting the new boys, isnt he automatically choice n02 or 3. There will be games where a bigger , but flexable forward would be prefered, so wouldnt at least picked regularly from bench be also his strength.Pearson aint going to play with a 12-13 man fixed squad. Even the newboys, might have to wait for the honour of 1st on the team sheet. Before a ball was kicked, there was noway, drinkwater or James werent going to be 1st choice, Now many of us are, not only not sure, but acceptingthat its NPs choice

No buying players or loaning until the winter break. I believe we can sign free agents though. So if there are any worthwhile players not yet signed they can be brought in as long as you have room in your 25 man squad.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 September 2014 Share Posted 3 September 2014 Still think we need a big strong striker as backup for Ulloa but I agree, wouldn't be surprised if he was to go Wolves on loan. As long as there's a recall clause then it benefits everyone.
Dickov22 Posted 3 September 2014 Share Posted 3 September 2014 Wood will surely leave. There won't be a place in the 18 for him with all players fit and available. Player his age needs to be playing
LAprice_ Posted 3 September 2014 Share Posted 3 September 2014 We can't send someone out on loan just because he won't get in the 18 man match day squad. Based on that, Knockaert, Simpson and Taylor-Fletcher should go out on loan as well because they're just as likely to miss out on a place on the bench. I feel a bit sorry for Chris Wood. He was given a chance against Shrewsbury, he worked very hard but was getting terrible support from Mahrez, Knockaert and the two youngsters in midfielder. Ulloa is a better player, but he's getting much better support when he plays.

The Bear Posted 3 September 2014 Share Posted 3 September 2014 We didn't manage to get a striker in on a permanent deal. It wouldn't surprise me to see us go back in for Wood on loan when the window opens next week.
ealingfox Posted 3 September 2014 Share Posted 3 September 2014 Just need NP to charm him, and convince him that his long-term future is still with us but he should go out and play right now. The same thing West Brom probably told him several times, the poor sod.

He won't leave because we want him to get games, he'll leave because he will want to, and if he's not in our squad what's the point in paying his wages? Might as well send him on loan to recoup some cash

Royston. Posted 4 September 2014 Share Posted 4 September 2014 you dont bring two forwards in without someone going the other way. Shame cos he is our second highest goalscorer this season. Are we still obligated to selling all our players to leeds?
