Craig Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Give me Vardy over Deeney any day. As for James leaving for Watford! ! They really do have a high opinion of themselves.
AKCJ Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Just one other quick note:- I've been really delighted at how well and professionally our negotiators have managed this business. There's been really no comparison between our sharp and worldy-wise international team at the head of a slick pan-European organisation and the provincial hicks in chain store suits on the Leicester side. You'd think they'd smarten up their business dealings now they're in the top flight. You can rest assured that they have them dancing like little marionettes on gossamer strings. I was amazed by that 'chocolate box' remark. What a thing for someone to say about a team that's just got you promoted. God knows why they're so desperate to get Deeney. I think a good part of it must be psychological. It's the only way they can remove the thorn from their paw. Buy their way out of their nightmares. Well, whatever their motivation it looks like the sky's the limit when it comes to our ex-Walsall boy. Decent return on the £250k we laid out.

SlaneyLCFC Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 my word, Still bleating on about the play off semi match.......... "God knows why they're so desperate to get Deeney. I think a good part of it must be psychological. It's the only way they can remove the thorn from their paw. Buy their way out of their nightmares" Nightmare of regrouping and reaching the PL whilst them lot bottled it againt palace. as for vardy going, not a chance. he will be crucial to the upcoming season. Personally think we won't be selling any players now, just a few more additions.
Master Fox Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 I can't think of a more entertaining set of fans than Watford for all the wrong reasaons. That thread is hilarious. Their trash talking skills are exemplary.
Jon the Hat Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Christ I hope that Clive bloke is talking shit. That would be an insanely bad deal on our side.

HankMarvin Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 This is from a Watford fan who claims to be ITK... It's absolutely laughable. I know we have a few dreamers who claim to be ITK on here but this guy is just embarrassing! "OK here's how it stands this morning then. Leicester are still leading the race, although they've been caught out a little bit by the surge of interest from other Prem clubs in TD. The only fly in the ointment to prevent the deal I mentioned yesterday going ahead (King + Vardy + 4m + add ons) is King, who's want a shot at the Prem and is reluctant to move South. Vardy is prepared to leave after being told Ulloa and Deeney will lead the line for them this season and that Vardy would need to compete with Nugent to play understudy. Vardy wants regular 1st team football. As you know, West Ham and Everton are now interested. The former have come in very strong for obvious reasons after Caroll's injury. As I said, this has startled Leicester, who remain desperate to land Deeney. They're trying to talk round King, but in the meantime they've told us that they've "opened the chocolate box" (those exact words!) and we can pretty much take our pick apart from Ulloa, Drinkwater and the goalkeeper when it comes to adding a makeweight to the deal. I understand that the Watford side are now weighing up Matty James and how he would fit in our side. If King refuses to move and they won't go for throwing James in to the deal, I've been told we'll turn our attention to other bidders or simply keep him ourselves. Of course we've no need to sell and have a large international market via the Pozzo's network from which even better offers might come given this little frenzy of interest." Sounds like this bloke likes to open his chocolate box

Laughable, absolutely laughable. It was pure stupidity when he mentioned Vardy in the deal, but to top that with replacing King with James in the deal, pure comedy gold. We will either pay the fee with some add-ons or we won't sign Deeney. I don't think any players will be in the deal and if they are they definitely won't be Vardy or Matty James.
benpicko Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Christ I hope that Clive bloke is talking shit. That would be an insanely bad deal on our side. There's no chance Pearson would let Vardy, Andy King, or Matty James leave to get another player in, let alone two of them plus £4m

foxes_rule1978 Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 They really think we still care about the play-off defeat... we took four points from them last season and strolled to the title... we don't give a f*** about it

We absolutely need another striker imho. Nuge, Vardy and Ulloa isn't enough. Wood is not a PL alternative right now. After that, we're blooding kids who didn't play in the Championship!

I wouldn't worry to much when Pearson is recently quoted as saying the following “We want to get ourselves right for the season and I think the club has worked exceptionally hard to add the right types of players. “You also have to remember this is our first year back in the Premier League for a decade. We have to make sure the business we do is correct for us at this time. “Some of the key signings have been the players who have re-signed for us having run out of contract last year. “I am delighted with the group I have got so far.” While looking to add, Pearson has also sought to play down reports suggesting sales could soon be sanctioned, with Andy King and Chris Wood among those said to be attracting interest from afar. He added: “I don’t want any of our players to leave. We haven’t got a big squad. “I am pleased with what we have done but I will see what happens.”
AnotherShitSeason Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Can't wait for today's Watford comedy hour instalment. King + Vardy + James + Ulloa + 7m + add ons perhaps?
benpicko Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Can't wait for today's Watford comedy hour instalment. King + Vardy + James + Ulloa + 7m + add ons perhaps? Add Schmeichel into that equation and we might just be lucky enough to snatch Deeney off them! Probably not, but we can dream
foxfanazer Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 I've heard Vardy + King Power stadium +add ons for Deeney
foxes_rule1978 Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 I've heard Vardy + King Power stadium +add ons for Deeney Throw the Marriott and morrisons in there and we will be close to a deal
Babylon Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Jesus christ.... Something we have to consider is our underperformance last season. We don't want to make the mistake of replacing top players who struggled to adjust with little more than mediocre ones that in many ways overachieved for Leicester in what was a very settled side.Without properly scouting makeweight players I'd be inclined to stick with a cash deal.
benpicko Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Jesus christ.... Is the Watford forum always this funny? Might have to visit more often
Finnegan Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 lol Probably the most delusional people on the planet. I know all fans are biased towards their clubs and against their "rivals" (which they clearly think we now are, which is pretty cute of them) but this is just sad. I do hope they're trolling us for lulz and none of them believe this shit.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Real just had a bid rejected! Offered Ronaldo + Benzema + 4mill... Ronaldo and Benzema are considered too Mediocre and they just want 10mill cash...
Bryn Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Just asked a mate who is a Watford fan, the "ITK" coming up with that is a notorious wind-up merchant known for making stuff up.
