davieG Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 AIRBUS are to lose one of their brightest prospects with 16-year-old Aaron Hassall set to sign for Leicester City. Having spent a week on trial at the newly-promoted Premier League side, Hassall has been offered the chance to join the Foxes with the Wingmakers receiving a five-figure transfer fee. A pupil of Queen's Park High School in Chester, Hassall made eight appearances for Airbus last season, and became one of the League's youngest-ever goal scorers in the final game of last season against Carmarthen Town. Hassall also made his European debut in July, coming on for 30-minutes of the second leg of the Europa League tie away at Haugesund in Norway in July. The teenager has been scouted by a number of Premier League and Football League clubs and becomes the second young Wingmaker to be offered professional terms, with former team-mate Zyaac Edwards turning down a move to Swansea City a year ago. “This is a brilliant opportunity for Aaron,” said Airbus director of football Andy Preece. “He did really well for us last season whenever we played him and it is great that we have produced another player that a big club is interested in. “It just shows that we're on the right wavelength now with the academy, trying to produce players. “It was a remit that we had we came into the club, that the chairman wanted to see us developing more of the young players into the first team. “A lot of hard work has gone into it and now we are seeing the fruits of that hard work.” Preece added that he felt Hassall has a great chance of making the grade with Nigel Pearson’s club, who play their football at the King Power Stadium and have given chances to a host of young players over the past two seasons, including captain Danny Drinkwater. He said: “The fee we will receive is great for the football club, while Aaron has a massive opportunity - it's only the first step but if anyone's going to do it, he will, with the attitude and ability that he's got.” Airbus became the first of four Welsh Premier clubs to come away from Llandudno with a friendly win, Ryan Wade scoring the game's only goal after 36 minutes at Maesdu Park. Adrian Cieslewicz has spoken of his excitement about the season ahead with Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints. Craig Harrison’s latest signing should be in the squad for the first league game away at Porthmadog FC on August 19. The former Manchester City and Wrexham man, who will wear number 21 on his TNS shirt, was playing his football in the Faroe Islands until a chance meeting with Harrison led to a move ‘ Cieslewicz said: “The team I was with in the Faroe Islands were playing against Linfield and when TNS played Cliftonville, they actually stayed in the same hotel as me. I spoke to Craig Harrison and we took it from there. The conversation was very positive and now here I am. “The lads have been great with me and the facilities are great too. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead. “I have been back in training with my previous team for the last six weeks, so I feel good and feel sharp.” Mold Alex were thrashed 13-0 by Bangor City in a friendly at Alyn Park, just a week before their opening Huws Gray Alliance fixture against Llandudno. Mold conceded eight goals before half-time as the Welsh Premier League outfit ran riot, with Les Davies leading the way with a personal haul of six, with five coming in the first half. Sion Edwards notched a late brace to add to further goals from Jamie McDaid, Sam Hart, Rob Jones and Declan Walker. Gap Connah’s Quay travelled to Ashton United and came back with a creditable 2-2 draw, with all four goals coming from unnamed trialists. Penycae’s friendly at Newtown ended in a 3-0 defeat, whilst Bala Town had a successful warm-up to the league campaign, defeating Denbigh Town 3-0.

mozartfox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Well it would be unlucky to name them " the Flight recorders " Well if their 'wags' have dyed blonde hair - they could be called the 'Black Boxes'
martyn Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Airbus eh? We have nothing Toulouse by making this signing....
Saxondale Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 A rudder good signing. Can make his mark in the top flight. Don't flap about this. Will glide straight into our set-up. Mile-high aspirations.
Xen Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Just so long as he doesn't crumble under the (cabin) pressure...
Bamba's Babes Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 ....the downside/danger is that if he proves to be World class someone will take him off us, there's nearly always someone bigger looking over your shoulder. Bigger than us? Is that possible?
