kingfox Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Hopefully Albrighton & Vardy are back next week, and Drinkwater's injury isn't too serious.
AmyLGK Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Ive not lived in Leicester since 1998 and I can't believe Budgens is still going...AND that premiership footballers shop there!! It must have gone up market....

It must have gone up market.... It's an odd niche. Not the most upmarket but they have quite a lot of quality stuff that you don't get in most supermarkets. Also a nice cafe and butchers. It mainly serves the wealthy and elderly
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 I'm guessing it's that mega expensive part that is basically Rothley. She sent me a CCTV clip, he's walking fine so can't be far off. Excellent. PS I am not ITK. Thanks. Hmm well at least your missus isn't a crazed stalker
lestajigs Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 <p> According to PhysioRoom.com (date is expected return). Obviously no mention of James or Drinkwater yet though. M Albrighton Groin/Pelvis Injury 23rd Aug 14 M Upson Ankle/Foot Injury no return date J Vardy Hip/Thigh Injury 23rd Aug 14 Good bit of info there
Tom's Pasta Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Joint third on the number of injuries table is unfortunate especially because we managed to have a relatively injury free season last season
Walshy5 Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Its like all the bad luck has come at once. We were really lucky with injuries last season.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 It's not the injuries that is the problem, it is the lack of depth in our squad. If you looked at Evertons squad size compared to ours there is a noticeable difference, especially with 4 or 5 of our players injured.
Number 6 Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 I'd rather have the I juries whilst we have the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea than against those teams we'll be in and around. Does highlight our lack of depth but those that came in yesterday did well.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Really missed Vardy yesterday I thought missed the pace and energy and would have fancied him against their defenders. Hope hes fit soon
Dickov22 Posted 17 August 2014 Posted 17 August 2014 Is Vardy's injury the same problem that caused him to miss the end of last season?
ScouseFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Leicester City @OfficialFOXES 1m Drinkwater (hamstring), James (shin) to miss @chelseafc, but Albrighton, @vardy7 could return. More follows. #CheLei
Bert Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Guess it's better to be missing them for the games where they'll have less of an impact on the game rather than against West Brom Etc.
Bamba's Babes Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 The silverlining of these injuries is that Pearson will now add to the squad and he has realised this before the window has closed.
ScouseFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Guess it's better to be missing them for the games where they'll have less of an impact on the game rather than against West Brom Etc. i'd agree. even if we played our best team at 100% fitness and everyone played a blinder we'd still have our work cut out at chelsea away. guess it's a bit like the holloway/mccarthy tactic of old to play a complete reserve team at old trafford etc so you're fully fit and raring to go vs burnley at home or whatever. obviously not suggesting that but agree it's a smaller blow for one or two to miss big games, especially early on imo.
harpendenfox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 So the website says James for a fortnight, DD for 7-10 days. Vardy and Albrighton perhaps available this weekend. Two weeks free after the Arsenal game. I'm quite sure no one will rush DD back for Arsenal at home. We need him right
Babylon Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Playing all the big boys at the start might now be a blessing, lets us get players back fit whilst missing games we were less likely to pick up points from.
Fosse93 Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Bad news. I think Pearson would have gone 4-5-1 on Saturday as well with 3 CM's, looks like we may just have to go for it!
StanSP Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Any idea how long Drinkwater is out for? We might have a full squad to choose from (+ more signings?) by the time the games come after the internationals. As Babylon says, better have injuries now than against teams we could realistically get points from.
kingfox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Terrible blow, might just have to lump it with King & Hammond by the looks of it. This Cambiasso saga is dragging now, he won't even be match fit anyway, now we have injuries I'd rather get someone in who is match sharp.
65RosesFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I'd rather have the I juries whilst we have the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea than against those teams we'll be in and around. Does highlight our lack of depth but those that came in yesterday did well. bit of a contradiciton there as you mention we don't have depth in squad but the players that did come in played well. i think it shows that even though we are a small squad, some of the players who we were unsure would be able to cut it in the Prem (hammond, wood, some said king) can cope at this level and fit in to the team easily enough. the injuries to james and DD have reassured me that King and Hammond are good enough when called upon. yes it's only one game, but those three all had very good games against the side that finished 5th last season. i think most teams in the lower half of the table would be majorly impacted if their best two centre mids, a winger and arguably best striker were missing from their squad. yes we need some more signings but nothing too drastic, assuming we sign Fanni, and hopefully Cambiasso then i think we only need a CB, maybe a winger, unless he is considering of using Schlupp as back up. and maybe a striker, but if Wood is happy to stay and fight for his place do we really need five?
65RosesFox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Bad news. I think Pearson would have gone 4-5-1 on Saturday as well with 3 CM's, looks like we may just have to go for it! he can slightly tweak it and go 4-2-3-1 back four and defensive midfield the same as what finished against everton with mahrez knockaert nugent/albrighton in front with Ulloa up top.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 The fact that all things being well everyone will be back after the International break bodes very well for us, if Fanni comes I think that's us ok at the back, definitely need another CM (Cambiasso?) and probably a winger, players like Schlupp are brilliant for us, as he can do a job in so many positions as long as he's fit it's like having more than 1 player.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Terrible blow, might just have to lump it with King & Hammond by the looks of it. Normally I would say that, but if the Everton game is anything to go by, they are surprisingly good at this level.
