Happy Fox Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 I know it's far too early, but what team would you pick? and score predictions as well. I am going for something like this. Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Mahrez Drinkwater Hammond Schlupp Vardy Ulloa Subs: Hamer, Lawrence, King, Simpson, Nugent, Cambiasso and Powell. 2-1 Leicester City win. Mahrez and Vardy with the goals, Stoke consolation via Diouf.
Finnegan Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 How the **** can you drop King? I agree Vardy and Drinkwater should come in but I'd lose Hammond. He and Nugent have done well, neither exactly deserve to be dropped but I think you've got to play your best players at this level. We've got to be ruthless.
eddylcfc Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Kasper Simpson Morgan Moore Konchesky Cambiasso Mahrez Drinkwater King Vardy Ulloa Subs Hamer Wasyl James Powell Knockaert Albrighton Nuge What a bench and it doesn't even include Schlupp, Hammond, De laet, lawrence, Wood, Upson - incredible
Finnegan Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 I wouldn't change the system, either. We've survived Everton and Arsenal - two of the best passing, midfield sides, not just in England but in Europe - playing 442. I don't see a need to change for Stoke.
Fox Ulike Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 You can't replace Nugent with Vardy. Too many people really don't understand Nugent's contribution to the team. Plus, Stoke away is tailor-made for Dean Hammond. I think the Man United (H) game will be the time to bring Drinkwater back into the starting 11.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 We've got quite a strong squad now, would anyone risk not having a goalie on the bench?
blueonyou Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Same team ofc. We'll tear Stoke a new one. Bring Cambiasso on at 75mins when we're 3 - 0 up, along with Vardy
Fox92 Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Don't see the point in changing system, but Nugent had been sitting behind Ulloa to make five. Nigel now has a "problem" in terms of picking a first 18 though, which can only be good to be fair.
sylofox Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 We've got quite a strong squad now, would anyone risk not having a goalie on the bench? I may be wrong but thought the rules stated a keeper had to be on the bench.
Captain... Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 You can't replace Nugent with Vardy. Too many people really don't understand Nugent's contribution to the team. Plus, Stoke away is tailor-made for Dean Hammond. I think the Man United (H) game will be the time to bring Drinkwater back into the starting 11. Depends if we want to win, or avoid defeat. Stoke aren't the physical team they once were with Bojan, Arnautovic, Ireland and Diouf they will be looking to keep possession and dictate the game. Hammond will win the ball back, but doesn't do much with it, if we want to win we will need to keep the ball rather than spend all game chasing it down trying to win it back. Hammond has been excellent at what he does, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him dropped for Stoke and back for United with their embarrassment of riches going forward.
Mark_w Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Same team. Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Mahrez King Hammond Schlupp Ulloa Nugent Hamer, Simpson, Cambiasso, Drinkwater, Powell, Albrighton, Vardy. No room for Was, Wood, Lawrence or Knocky.

Avoid defeat.... to begin with at least. We shouldn't underestimate Stoke. First hour we'll probably be under the cosh, if we can keep it at 0-0 we can then bring Drinkwater/Vardy on for Hammond/Ulloa to try and win the game in the last 20 minutes - Vardy's pace nearly did against a tiring Arsenal defence.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Drinkwater for Hammond only change for me. More difficult to pick a bench.
Stevosevic Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Yep, get Drinky in for Hammond. Vardy coming on off the bench.
Fox Ulike Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 We never win when we play Drinkwater and King together away from home. Honestly, the stats on that combination are atrocious. In 2012/13 season: King and Drinkwater started a total of 15 away games together. We won 2 of them Those two are like our Lampard/Gerrard issue. Both brilliant individually but they really don't complement each other at all.
lgfualol Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Team is easy. It's the subs I am unsure about. Same team, but Drinkwater in for Hammond. Subs: Hamer, Simpson, Wasyl, Cambiasso, Albrighton, Wood, Vardy Where to put Powell, James, aaah Good luck keeping everyone happy Nige
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Why isnt anybody putting Was on the bench? Crazy!
Finnegan Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 I'd love to know what someone thinks Nugent contributes to the side that Vardy can't. That's no disrespect to Nugent, I just really rate a lot or Vardy's all round game and think he'll compliment Ulloa much more.
jimmeh Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 As if people are putting Cambiasso on the bench lolllll you think he came to Leicester to sit on the bench

jimmeh Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 This will be the team. Schmeichel De Laet Moore Morgan Konch Cambiasso Mahrez Drinkwater King Vardy Ulloa
MHC Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 As if people are putting Cambiasso on the bench lolllll you think he came to Leicester to sit on the bench I think he's saving Cambiasso for the Man United match. Falcao will slot quite nicely into his pocket.
Corky Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 Hammond found it tough against Arsenal's pace early on but grew into the game, not convinved King and Drinkwater will work so effectively together, James seems to bring out the best in both. Hopefully he'll be on the bench, or we change and play three in midfield, with Riyad and Vardy playing off Ulloa. Tough choices for Nige.
foxfanazer Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 As if people are putting Cambiasso on the bench lolllll you think he came to Leicester to sit on the bench He won't have been guaranteed a starting place that's for sure
