Manwell Pablo Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Must win. Someone else has said that to me this week. Which is absurd because it's so far from "must win" it's untrue.
Leicesterpool Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Burnley's defence looks like its in for a struggle this season, so we need to take advantage of that. Same team as Ross Turner.
lestajigs Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Someone else has said that to me this week. Which is absurd because it's so far from "must win" it's untrue. No but will be a bigger win against these, then it would a top half team, come the end of the season
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Someone else has said that to me this week. Which is absurd because it's so far from "must win" it's untrue. I hate the term 'must win'..banded about far too often. However, this game really is important IMO. Not only for the points but for confidence and reputation. If we get turned over tomorrow by a clearly poor Burnley side its gonna be a choker. Not only will our boys take a hit, but tge rest of the teams in the Prem would cast a glance over as well. So no, its not 'must win'..but its a should win and there may be a knock-on if we don't. Or at least draw.
Stadt Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 It's a must not lose, whilst it'd be disappointing if we drew it wouldn't be a disastrous result in the grand scheme of things:
BlackburnClaret Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Ah the good old, face saving, "if you don't put four by us we're going to say you're shit" pre defense. You've got me wrong. With no attack or midfield we haven't a chance. If you set about us right, it'll be a cricket score. Talking of pre-defence this thread is full of it. All season you've been calling us shit, the weakest team in the league, whipping boys, blah, blah, blah. Now, all of a sudden, we are plucky, tight, well organised etc etc etc.

Now, all of a sudden, we are plucky, tight, well organised etc etc etc. With Jukebox and Sordell up front, and the professional victim in the dugout, you are the weakest team in the league - however if you've got one thing going for you on showings so far (well, prior to last weekend), it's a strong defence. We should win fairly comfortably, but if the defence that played the first 5, rather than the defence that faced west brom, shows up, I'd not expect a cricket score.

The defence is only as good as the cover in front of it. The tireless work of Marney is a big part of our defensive record. Without him we look so exposed. Add the Dowd/Vardy combinatination, they could even all be penalties.

Just tell your defenders and keepers not to lunge at him, look back on the penalties on Vardy last season.
BlackburnClaret Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Just tell your defenders and keepers not to lunge at him, look back on the penalties on Vardy last season. I won't see them, but I'm sure they're aware.
Corky Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 I won't see them, but I'm sure they're aware. I know there is a belief Vardy regularly wins soft penalties, exacerbated by the Man United game, but virtually all others have been genuine fouls. Knockaert wins more soft penalties and goes to ground easier than Vardy for sure.
lestajigs Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Is it a sell out tomorrow In the home areas yes, don't know how Many there bringing though, at a guess 2000, so attendance will be over 1k down to previous games
BlackburnClaret Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 2093 sold out of 2400, with the rest on sale tomorrow. So sell out.
Nalis Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 I fear its got a 1-0 Burnley smash and grab feel about it...
ScouseFox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 2093 sold out of 2400, with the rest on sale tomorrow. So sell out. how come we didn't give these the full end?
Simmo86 Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 how come we didn't give these the full end? No chance of selling it.
ScouseFox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 No chance of selling it. fair enough. have we resold the block they didn't want? or is it back to the classic championship days of loads of black netting and flags taking up seats?
Free Falling Foxes Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 I fear its got a 1-0 Burnley smash and grab feel about it... I hate when a team with an unenviable record comes here. You know; haven't won away all season, or haven't scored more than one goal in an away match so far and in Burnley's case, only one goal scored so far this season. It'll mean they'll score two tomorrow - just hope we can score at least 3!
ScouseFox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Am i the only guy shitting himself for this nah, most nervous i've been for a game since burnley away last year. pressure ain't it.
sylofox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Has anyone realised yet with no Ings Vokes or centre mid if we batter these we have 2 weeks of we are the champions shite. Then if we lose at the toon NP is shite we are going down. I am sure that roller coaster at Blackpool is a lot smoother ride than following the City.
ealingfox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Is it weird that a tiny part of me wants us to lose just so I can laugh at the meltdown on here?
sylofox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Is it weird that a tiny part of me wants us to lose just so I can laugh at the meltdown on here? Are you for fvcking real?
