What a difference a week makes

lol Been away for the weekend, saw the result yesterday and knew it would be a laugh coming on here.

This time last week:

We could probably finish 6th you know, who'd you fancy getting in our Europa League group. Vardy will get an England call-up in October for definite, how much compo will we get when NP gets the England job? etc etc

This week:

Drop Nugent! Drop Schmeichel! We don't beat Burnley and we're basically already down!

Have to say though I thought yesterday was our biggest test of the season so far in a way. We did not deliver. It was understandable but we definitely got WAY ahead of ourselves after last week, so it's important not to now.

Sack off the diamond shit for away games for sure though, I think Pearson was pretty naive there.

Nugent - I'm genuinely torn on this one. I completely understand that the guy is a big player for us, all-round contribution is always good, gets assists regularly, always puts in a shift. We certainly could miss him if he were to be dropped. But at the end of the day he is a striker and he is meant to be getting us goals, but he couldn't score in a brothel unless Vardy was there to win a penalty.

Is it just me or do we always lose to Warnock teams? Apart from the 4-0 over QPR when he'd not been there long I feel like he always beats us.

That's football.

If it was so easy as beating United so we can beat anyone, then we'd have won the top flight years ago.

That's how bi-polar fans are on here. Either relegation or Champions League, there is no middle ground

And hilariously, the hugely underrated players who are undroppably brilliant in our Champions League squad are the same naive and technique-free wasters inadequate to keep us up the following week.

You've got to laugh haven't you lol.

I try to not get involved in it but some of the drivel you read on here from both ends pf the scale are frustrating. We've exceeded expectations so far and have had a lot to be positive about. Now we have games against the teams that will be around us come May.

No game is easy in the prem and we will have to be at our very best most weeks to get a positive result. Lets just enjoy it people, please!

All fans and all forums are the same, that’s why football is as popular as it is. The amount of varying emotions we see on a weekly basis is unbelievable and something I’ll never get used to. I tend to find match going fans are slightly different to those who watch a game on TV, I don’t know if it’s because we can see the whole game and pitch or we don’t have TV replays and pundits filling our minds with bullshit, I don’t know.

However, I love football. I love everything about it and wouldn’t change a thing, the highs the lows, the walk to the ground, the nerves, how frustration can change to delight in a second and vice versa, the bad decisions for and against, even all the bullshit that is talked between rival fans, most of which is biased as **** but very rarely will we admit that we are seeing things through tinted glasses lol it’s fantastic. Even the dodgy pies at the King Power are enjoyable (joke)

Have a hot dog next time, they're really good.

To be fair, the middle ground is rather boring

I would take the middle ground this season all day long, because there is zero chance we are going to finish in the top 4 but there is a chance we could be relegated, although i don't believe we will be. We are going to play some more games where we are simply outplayed by better teams and even teams on a similar level to us this season but its to be expected so i dont understand why people are so surprised when it happens

Of course I would take middle ground, but there's little to get excited about with it, which is the point. To be fair, things are a bit more interesting when we're flying high or the sense of danger around poor results.

That being said I'd rather be in the whole Villa/Southampton/Newcastle can we make 8th and all that entails discussion, even though the difference in 8th-17th is rather moot

I'm just sad we resorted to hoof ball.

Also disappointed as I thought we'd put up more of a fight.

But whatever, not even October yet.

We didn't resort to hoof ball

We beat him a couple of times at Sheffield United, then a couple at Palace, once as you mention agianst QPR and with Leeds as well.

We did hit more long balls than anybody else in the league so far this weekend apart from Everton (!) and QPR. As a % of our overall passes however it was much less than the previous week against United.

Palace defended far better against our direct approach than United did. It also didn't help that it seemed that a lot of our long passes against Palace were directed down the middle of the pitch where their centre backs were dominating, rather than into the channels.

We are actually quite a direct side. There was a lot of talk last season about our "passing style" o play which I was never really on board with. We've been most effective on the counter attack for at least the last year or so by getting the ball forward quickly.
