To compliment the Christmas dinner thread here's the Christmas Eve equivalent.

Essentials.

Small roasts, seasoned and roasted with garlic and orange zest

pork pie

Stilton

Pigs in blankets, it's Christmas get them whenever you can

Pickled onions

Gerkins

Piccalilli

Homemade apple chutney

Home made mince pies served warm with brandy cream sauce.

Where possible all produce purchased from local butchers.

Can take it or leave it.

Mini Sausage rolls, no need here

Pickled cabbage

No f*#%ing way

Cheap supermarket party snacks

I will also be indulging in Pringles and quality street.

Pickled onions, gherkins & mayonnaise  . I'm doing a 12 hour shift at work tomorrow so won't be partaking in any of this xmas eve fayre malarkey.

We've got some cold roast beef for sandwiches, the Mrs is making some potted meat. Pork pie, pickled onions cheese and crackers and a few beers. If I'm feeling extravagant I'll open a packet of crisps.

I've found a take away container for ale. I think I will get some bottles (only three) then a couple from the pub) That should last me Xmas day. Not really a big drinker at home.

Just got back to Wigston from where I live now in Hampshire. Was lucky to avoid the traffic, even round Heathrow! Staying in a pub tonight before going over to my mums tomorrow.

Yes, I did song the customary "Leicestershire La La La" when I went past the sign on the motorway.
