Has Anyone Booked a Holiday Yet?

Off to Japan tomorrow; absolutely buzzing.

10 days in Tokyo, 2 in Kyoto, 1 in Hiroshima and 1 in Osaka.

Looking forward to getting away from the UK and immersing myself in a totally different culture for a couple of weeks - really need to reset my brain atm; no news, no brexit, no worries.

Just beer, sushi, karaoke and exploring somewhere I've wanted to visit for years.

I'm already absolutely gutted to be coming home and I've not even left yet. Might just stay tbh.

Sounds great, I was in the Japan Centre this morning...not quite the same..

Give the fugu a go and let us know how you get on  (I’ve been trying for years to have some but not been to the kind of places that has it)

Just booked a holiday in Lanzarote. Been checking online for about a week. First day you look at it it's 1 price, next day same hotel and everything is dearer. So I cleared all my cookies, went back on and it's back to it's original price. The conning bastards.

Where did you book in lanzarote?

We went near playa Blanca last year and it was great.

Costa Teguise, probably a bit quiet but it was cheap.

Are the buses there cheap like in Tenerife, do you know?

Visiting an insular island nation with an imperial history, declining world status and a place where foreigners find it difficult to integrate? Sounds a lot like the UK to me

Got back from the States last weekend. Still not sure what I really made of it. NYC didn't really impress me although the met museum was incredible.

Every place I went to was ****ing freezing too. Coming back to the UK to warm up is a strange feeling.

Has anyone been to Ronda near Malaga? I'd never heard of it until I saw it on a windows lock screen and it looks amazing. I want to go.

Curious to see if anyone has been.

Yeah, I've been, Finners.

It is well worth a trip (though I dare say it gets more day-trippers than when I went there, 30-odd years ago - you know what it's like once somewhere is 'discovered'). There is enough in the place itself to hold your interest for a couple of days, but if you're into walking there's some magnificent hiking around there. The bullring is particularly worth a visit (I seem to recall it is possibly the oldest surviving in Spain?) which you can do without having to attend a bullfight. It has (or again, did have) loads of genuine Spanish tapas bars and restaurants. I'm guessing the Windows lock screen showed the bridge over the ravine?

Edit: Actually, I now realise it was 39 years ago that I was there. Christ, that makes me feel old.

I'm taking my girlfriend for a couple of days to Paris in June. Never been before - no idea where to stay.

All suggestions welcome!

I recommend a hotel or maybe a apartment.  I think staying in a hostel with your girlfriend may take out the romance of the trip.

No need to thank me for the suggestion. Always here to help
