ramadaone Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 On loan ? Source not very convincing but left footed centre half is what we require as he can play left back as well
benpicko Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Thought we only sign Man United academy players that play well against us?
Guest Kopfkino Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Training with him will get Vardy's confidence sky high again
Will1981 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 no thanks, would rather get a more experienced CB or develop our own (Moore).
ScouseFox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 One of the worst centre back performances ive ever seen at our ground when he came here with United. No idea how good he is other than that.
MHC Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No thanks, he was terrible when we played them. Morgan, Moore, Wasilewski and Upson are all better.
Walshy5 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 If his performance against us is anything to go by then I'd rather we left well alone.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I have to say, I have seen him several times for United and yet to be impressed. He is easily caught out of position and lacks any real presence at the back.
RizLCFC Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 He's shite, McNair is much better, but we need someone better then both of them!
teblin Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 He's not bad. Will get better. Has the attributes to make a decent centre back. Just not to start every week.
Jakemoore Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No way. Vardy ripped the shit out of him. No offence to vardy but if he can destroy him then the likes of aguero would boil him alive.
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No, thank you. Too young and not Premier League quality (yet). We need more Premier League experience in the back, not a youngster with a lot of deficiencies still.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No thanks, doesn't look ready for the prem yet, let alone a relegation battle
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 He is the unfinished article and has the attributes to become a class player. Tough one to call whether we'd want him here as he was that woeful against us
StanSP Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 It was only 1 game but he didn't fill me with any hope as a potential decent player when he got torn to shreds by Vardy. And with United having injuries all over the place I can't imagine he'll be let out in this window.
VLC86 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Thought we only sign Man United academy players that play well against us? That rule only comes into effect if they are playing for a championship team at the time, apparently.
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Why on earth are United loaning out defenders when they struggle to keep their own injury free?
inckley fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No, thank you. Too young and not Premier League quality (yet). We need more Premier League experience in the back, not a youngster with a lot of deficiencies still. I'm not convinced. All of our defenders have had at least half a season now, De Laet had played briefly at this level before, Konchesky has 300+ games at this level, Simpson over a hundred, Wasilewski has played in two top European divisions. In my opinion it's essential that we look after the long-term as well as the short-term future of the cliub. After all, the biggest argument I heard for keeping Pearson was that we need to look after our club's long-term future, you can't apply that logic to the manager and then completely the opposite logic when it comes to squad-building. Our squad isn't as young as people seem to think it is. And, in defence especially, we have quite a bit of that PL 'know how' Pearson talks of. If you add Schwarzer to the mix, then we have a lot of experience in defensive positions. Worth pointing out, though, that our best performers have either been totally inexperienced at the highest level (Morgan in defence, Mahrez in midfield) or have no prior PL experience (Cambiasso, Ulloa). Either way, those PL-experienced players we have with ample experience - Konchesky and Nugent - haven't really been among our top performers. Perhaps it's because of being brought up around the O'Neill era, or having seen a highly experienced PL side go down under Adams, but I am very dubious about the merits of packing your squad with PL veterans.
inckley fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 No way. Vardy ripped the shit out of him. No offence to vardy but if he can destroy him then the likes of aguero would boil him alive. So we don't sign him on the basis of that single game? He's made quite a few other performances for them this season. If it was a loan I'd be dubious, but if there was a chance of signing him permanently he could prove a great prospect. And if we sign players on the basis of the Man U game, then you can expect a British transfer fee-breaking bid to come in for Vardy any time soon. I'd like to see how he's got on in the other half a dozen games he's played for them before I rushed to that judgement.
