StanSP Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 There's definitely no 2-footedness there which was said previously. It's a proper tackle. Just a hard, solid footballing tackle. Nowt wrong with it.
Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 I must've been seeing things but I thought he gave a free-kick to us after Clark steamed in, then sent both off for the scuffle and when play restarted they had the free-kick? Clark should've had a straight red too. Exactly what I thought had happened on the stream. Red didn't blow his whistle until the Clark foul.
Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 I was convinced he'd blown and pointed for a free kick our way. Seems wrong that James will miss three and Clark will miss one (given he took James out earlier for a yellow card). Same shit happened at Villa Park with Konchesky getting sent off and Hutton not. How any villa fans have got the gall to complain after handbags has twice resulted in red cards for Leicester players and yellows for Villa despite the Villa player being the aggressor in both incidents is totally beyond me.
Rasmic123 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 clark you ****in arsehole twat, disgraceful that he got james sent off. james is never getting sent off if clark doesnt makes such a ****in meal of it. hope he breaks his ****in leg, scumbag
Danno Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Löl @ Matt Lowton on the Villa bench trying to get into the action there.
canadaukfox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Just seen it on MOTD. Still not convinced its a red, especially as their player goes in 2 footed as well. Watching Chelsea-Leeds 71 cup final over chrimbo, this would've been one of the softer challenges!

Rasmic123 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 think it's fair to say things have changed a bit since then. yeah nowadays players have way too much influence over the refs. the moment a scuffle happened, you knew cards were gonna come out
ScouseFox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 definite red after watching some decent footage on motd. bad tackle.
Arkie Bennett Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Watching on MotD it seemed to be a classic 50-50 with both players connecting with each other to some extent. On that basis a straight red for James and no punishment for Okore seems grossly unfair. Clark was uninvolved until he took it on himself to barge into James after the whistle; violent conduct maybe?
EnglishOxide Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Meh. Can see why the ref has given it. Having your studs up rolling over the top of the ball is never smart as it can end up breaking someone's standing leg. Villa player should have also had one for standing on James' shin though. Ref obviously missed it or yet again ruled against our favour. We seriously get **** all luck from referees.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Isnt the second image a result of his foot rolling over the top of the ball? Which he won? Yes but his foot has rolled over the top of the ball as he's gone in over the top of it. You can't go in with your studs rolling over the top of the ball these days.
Dickov22 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 In today's game, it's definitely a red. Pretty sure a player (can't remember who) did a similar challenge on Cambiasso a few games ago at our place and we all wanted a red. Shame for James, we will miss him.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Who the fvck is this bell? https://twitter.com/NeilBonnarBN/status/554066508088086529 Outstanding
Dickov22 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 You may be right and I can't remember fully but I seem to recall there was a chance of Vardy being offside, so Nugent held it and tried to go past his man, taking a too heavy touch in the process. Poor moment but he is not an unintelligent player. Vardy lost the ball every time he got it. I don't blame Nugent for not passing to him
The Guvnor Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Unlucky red card, won the ball and his foot has rolled over the top of the ball. Matty James is elbowed off the ball by Clark just after James challenge and that contributed no doubt with James reaction. Clark nearly cut Ulloa in half with a dangerous challenge at villa park, he is a good player but also a dirty little twat!
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I think it could have gone either way. He's a bit unlucky really, it's a very honest challenge and his foot has just rolled over the ball slightly. When you're commited to a full speed tackle, that can happen. There's certainly no two-footedness and 'studs showing' is just a ridiculous phrase, anyone who's played football knows you're studs should be showing in a slide tackle - a pointed toe means you risk injuring yourself. What it's really about is whether you're over the ball, and you have to say he was, albeit pretty unfortunately. Clarke can have no complaints, reactions like his are extremely immature and typical of a footballer who thinks he's hard man (as if he really gives a shit about a tackle on his teammate anyway ).
bongo92 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Red card imo, was unfortunate as contact was only made because of his foot rolling over the ball. You have to realise that in todays game you get a straight red if you go in with studs showing (regardless if you win the tackle). Also you have to ask yourself if a villa player did that would you been calling for him to be sent off? More than likely. Also loved james showing his passion in the handbags afterwards, good to see passion in a city shirt!
Itsthejoeker Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Anyone notice how Clark tripped up Knockaert off the ball too? just before the Ulloa penalty shout. Guy's a grade A twat.
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Who the fvck is this bell? Works for a Bolton newspaper. Judging by his style of writing and his articles, he either has a funny definition of "journalism" or people in Bolton couldn't care less.
fazzyfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Who was the Villa bell / player in the bib who was laughing at James? You're losing against a team who are bottom of the table and you've either been subbed or haven't been brought on but an opponent has been sent off so it's time for merriment and joy. Good days work mate, pick up your wages and ignore the result. And as for Clark, I hear that when he was born the midwife picked up him and the afterbirth and declared the arrival of twins. Rat faced recipient of the ugly stick with the facial hair of a mid puberty 14 year old.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Ciaran Clark is just upset because he looks like the type of **** that goes on Take Me Out and Matty is downright gorgeous.
