EGBFitness Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Would of liked to of seen Clark given straight red too so would of been given longer suspension especially as he did elbow James and then grab his face
Collymore Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 When the camera panned out to show the full grapple with all the players I was confused to why i couldn't see big Was getting involved. It was only when I saw the replay in slow motion that I realised he had jumped in so early he was throttling a player before James had even stop sliding!
ScouseFox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 yeah that second angle makes it look better, still not surprised a red was given but you could argue for or against on that angle.
Rasmic123 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 i think that gets rescinded if we appeal. no grounds for a red card - one footed challenge and he stayed on the ground.
Bert Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 So that leaves us with.... Andy King as the only fit and available central midfielder Drinkwater will be fit for Stoke.
mugshot Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Another silly decision by James as the game comes to a close. Unnecessary tackle with studs up from that position, very poor to go in to that tackle, just limits his game time in a period he could be very important. Thought James was fantastic today apart from losing the ball too softly at times, and that ending. I dont think its silly, he broke up the play and stopped a possible counter...he didnt mean to get a red it was a strong challenge..it was what was needed so cant be called silly.
EGBFitness Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Hard to tell from this. This one looks worse. That second pic explains why was a red card IMO. The initial stage of the tackle has nothing wrong with it but leaving the stud above the ankles is a red card
Stadt Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Ciaran Clarke is ****, did a bad tackle on Ulloa at villa
Monsell1976 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 For me, and from where I was stood, his foot was over the ball, but he didn't dive in two footed, didn't appear to be out of control, so I think a yellow well deserved, and second yellow for the hand bags. The tackles some of our players received were as bad as the James one, but not many followed up with a card, and again the ulloa penalty shout look a good one from where I was stood, which would have had to be a straight red if given.
The Doctor Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Looks like James sticks his head in in the fracas - if so can see why a red was given. Clark should get a straight red though, elbow and sticks his head in, and only a yellow? Joke of a decision
LcFc_Smiv Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Pictures show one player going in full blooded, another going in half heartedly, first thing your taught as a kid is pull out of a tackle and your going to get hurt. Well done Matty James.
Haydos Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 What's the actual worded law? There was no unnecessary force (pretty sure that's a thing). Could be considered 'dangerous'...Is that a thing as well?
orangecity23 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 The elbow from Clark is awful, definitely should have been a straight red. Not sure the James tackle is a red though, especially from the second angle.
DB11 Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Hard to tell from this. This one looks worse. Ref's got a perfect view and angle
Brooksy Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Never a red. I rate Michael Oliver but he was bloody awful today.
pazzerfox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 100% red card, you can't tackle like that any more i'me afraid.
Frank Large Doughnuts Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 How that could even be a booking is beyond me. Either the ref has got it wrong or the game has gone way too soft.
LCFC BEAST Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 He's won the ball, but his foot's rolled over it which catches the Villa player. Unfortunately in this day and age, it's a red card.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 That second pic explains why was a red card IMO. The initial stage of the tackle has nothing wrong with it but leaving the stud above the ankles is a red card This. Studs up, and clumsy.
